I myself love history, but am not a fan of American History as it is almost completely politics. I am more interested in people and cultures. I enjoy ancient and medieval history the most and enjoy reading fiction books in those periods as well as non-ficiton.

I love history. It's my favorite subject. My areas of special interest are World War 2 (Pacific theater, in particular); American Civil War (I had an ancestor in the 33rd Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment at Gettysburg); American westward expansion (especially trappers and mountain men); Golden Age of aviation.

Those are my favorites, but any history is just fine with me!!

There is some Confederate States record that you can get throught the National Archives in Washington DC. And some times your own state has records throught the Provost Marshials Office. At least mine does. The Naional Archives also has records on MicroFilm that you can check out had have sent to you if y ou become a member.
