Boy howdy :)

But even so brothers and sisters He loves us. Remember Peter and his failure. Not once but thrice he denied our Lord to his utter shame..but oh how he shined once the Truth was given him.

2 Peter 1:

1. Simon Peter, a bond-servant and apostle of Jesus Christ,To those who have received a faith of the same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:

2. Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord;

3. seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.

4. For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.

5. Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge,

6. and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness,

7. and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.

8. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9. For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins.

10. Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble;

11. for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you.

12. Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you already know them, and have been established in the truth which is present with you.

Hey, if you feel bad when you fall, just think of Peter and how he felt when the [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] crowed!!!!! If you are falling, feeling bad about it, getting up and continuing on anyway, that means you are on the right path. MAY YOU BE BLESSED TO CONTINUE! i remember a story about a monk being asked what the monks do in a monestary. The monk replied, "We fall, get up, fall again, get up again, and eventually we die."
i seriously worry about those who strut through life with not a care in the world talking about how much "fun" it is to be a Christian :confused: . Carrying a cross is not my idea of "fun" and my Lord didn't enjoy it much either, He, too, falling (only physically, of course!) a few times on His way to Calvery and back to the right hand of the Father. While carrying a cross as a Christian--falling down, getting up, falling down, getting up, etc.--it not my idea of fun, IT SURE IS JOYFUL! May you persevere and prosper, my brother! :hug:

I feel like that every day. Sometimes I feel that there is not way that God can forgive me. But then I get a gentle push. He picks me back up and I continue to walk with Him. I know that I can't be perfect, I know that I will fall, but I need to get back up.

Thank you for the scriptures, they are truly helpful.

There is a verse that I hold close to my heart whenever I feel like I have failed God, or I fear that I am about to fail Him again:

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
{I Corinthians 10:13}

There have been many good replies to your original post; Just remember that when you take your sins to God, confess them and repent, God is faithful to forgive you and cast those sins as far from you as the east is from the west! None of us are perfect; while we are still in this world in this flesh we will always be confronted with sin and we will always make mistakes. But you must learn from them, trust in God, and make the decision to do differently next time. It does get easier. You are made a new person in Christ, no longer dead in sin but alive in the Spirit. You can forget {as God chooses to forget when He forgive} all of your sins and dedicate yourself to a new life in Christ. Remember that God is faithful and He will be with you, and that you can always count on Him when you need help. You can do all things through Him! And that includes conquering sin and failure!

God Bless You,
Erin

I was at a revival at my church one fall and the visiting evangelist illustrated like this:

He was standing there behind the pulpit and he held out his hand, he said this is me in the hand of the Master. In the Masters hand I am the clay and He is the potter. He can mold me into whatever He decides. Sometimes we as Christians sin and quite often fail and fall. With that the evangelist took his other hand and squished the clay in his other hand. This is what God does when we fall. But thanks to the Lord Jesus we have an advocate. And the advocate pleads for us. So the evangelist starts to remold the clay. This is what God does when we fall, Even though we fall and break the image God is molding us into, when we repent, He starts over remolding us. Isn't that a great illustration.

What matters is not how many times you fall, but that you keep getting back up again.

Until our dying breath, we must decide that when we fall, we will get back up again and continue on our path with God - trusting in His mercy (to forgive us), and His grace (to enable us).

Blessed Advent!

With love in Christ,
Grace

they fail the Lord miserably. I feel that way at times but I know the Lord is there to help me in spite of weakness or whatever it may be that I need to get closer to the Lord.

Yes, yes, yes I feel like that on many occasions. But you know grace is such a funny thing. Each time I hit that point, the Lord never fails to remind me whose I am. He loves me inspite of myself. He truly is anawesome God.
