I read recently that the Muppets were dropping their endorsements for Chick-fil-A because of the chain's Anti-gay stance. I was reading the comments on an article and to have so many people passionate about gay rights and to stand up and say everyone is free to love and the Bible is a crock...does that annoy anyone else?
Not particularly annoy I suppose but when I read comments like that it aggravates me and I get a little mad. And I have have a few friends that claim to be homosexual, and they're all for that lifestyle. I love them dearly and they are wonderful people, but I just get a bit mad when they talk about it. Does anyone else feel this? Or am I just being odd? lol :o
You're probably annoyed at the hypocrisy of people being intolerant in the name of tolerance. As you can see, the most "tolerant" people in our society will take any opportunity to bash the bible. Now that gay marriage has been positioned as a civil rights issue, it has become socially acceptable to do so.
John 7:7
The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify about it that its works are evil
People hate the bible because it convicts them of their sin. There is a famous gay actor, Ian Mckellen, who admitted in an interview that he defaces all of his hotel room bibles by tearing out Leviticus. Jesus said this:
John 3:19-21
And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.
For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.
But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God."
Basically, the gay movement is looking to have their lifestyle validated by the society. They know, in their heart of hearts, that what they're doing is wrong. They think though that the approval of the society will silence their conscience. It won't. They will also do anything to silence Christians who dare to speak up for biblical morality and affirm what their conscience already tells them. What they want to do is snuff out all the light.
We cannot expect that they will act any differently; a person living in darkness doesn't know what truth is, and so we must shine the light of Christ into their lives and show them. Instead of being annoyed, we must forgive them and love them. This doesn't mean tolerating sin, but it is to remember that the battle isn't over the culture, it is over the hearts of those lost people the devil is dragging with him to hell.
