For myself, I would have to say that plants don't have a soul. It's man into which God breathed the breath of life resulting in him becoming a living soul. Plants are alive but they're not human. God didn't breath into their nostrils the breath of life as he did to man. When they die, they're dead and that's it. It's we who will live forever in one place or another. We who have an eternal soul.

Just out of curiosity: plants are living, do they have souls? Not trying to pick a fight just wanting to know where you stand on the issue.
I think he means "life" - and not the "soul" as we generally know it. I may be wrong but I think this is a fine distinction of Aristotelian philosophy...to distinguish a plant or animal from something like a rock, or water... but don't worry, no one is claiming plants can be saved!!! ^_^

Oh, but they can. Was, and is, not God reconciling all of Creation to Himself in Christ?
