I just got finished reading "The Five Points of Calvinism Defined, Defended, Documented", by Steele and Thomas.

Wow, does Ephesians 1: 3-14 ever make sense!! I remeber reading my bible and just skipping over the things I didn't understand here, but now I see how just from these verses Paul is preaching the doctrines of Grace plain as day.

We were chosen before the foundation of the world, holy and blameless before him in Christ, predestined for adoption, redeemed through his blood according to his grace, obtained an inheritance, sealed with the promise of the holy spirit, to the praise of his glory.

Wow...so is calvinism what happens when you read your bible for what the text actually says?

LOL, that's what happened to me!!! Sometimes it seems so fair and right, other times I want to yell and scream at God for being like that--I'm still trying to sort it all out.....

I think the best book ever written about practical Calvinism is "Redemption accomplished and applied" by John Murray. It is the book that finally nailed it for me especially on limited atonement or particular redemption.

Excellent book Irishcat if I may recommend on limited atonement if you are interested John Owen The death of death in the death of christ. The most amazing book on the subject of the atonement imho.
Goes a lot deeper than Murray fine as he is.

Yup, just reaffirms that I am in the right place. No disrespect but ^_^ .

I just meant it would be hard to look at that text in any other light. Either Reformed Theology is wrong, or the Arminians have a whole lot of explaining to do.
