  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Then I have to think, "wouldn't it be funny if there were room for all of us?" Doctrinally sound or not, if we believe in Jesus Christ, and that he was raised from the dead, what difference do the other doctrines make? We are all human, and we all see the same thing in different perspectives. That's too bad for unity, but if we all can agree on this one thing about Christ Jesus... well, it is a start. :)

I've just been to South Africa - a country which suffered for years under notions of purity - both doctrinal and racial. Now it's emerging from that, and is busy misceganating wildly. I began to realise how much I detested the idea of one "pure" way that is "the truth" only known by the few who prefer to sit under some stone somewhere congratulating themselves that only they are the "pure" or the "elect." Pah! Give me a poem mixing Zulu and English, or a mixed race marriage, or a Catholic Quaker, or a Protestant Orthodox any day to someone who sits self-satisfied in some realm of intellectual purity slapping themselves on the back. Even the ducks in Jo'Burg Botanical Gardens are busy intermarrying.

Miscegenate wildly.

I think you have a good point somewhere in there. The most balanced Christians I know are those who have had the experience of being in several denominations. They are more gracious, less bigoted and have a greater understanding of what is really important in Christianity.
