• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I would like to ask what young earth creationists think about the prospect of their thread being moved by a mod if 1) TE's feel it might be inviting, and tempted to respond 2) a creationist argues with a TE intruder.

My thread was moved to OT for reason #1. Gwenyfur, unfortunately, is spreading the rumor that I responded to unauthorized posters. But the thread is here for anyone to see.

Is Biblical Creationism a pure science?

Gwenyfur said that other people responded to the non-creationists.

I had unsubscribed from that thread because of the antagonism caused by the non-creationists.

I was not surprised that the thread got moved.

In the future, I think we should just report posts by non-creationists instead of responding to them.

If we want to enter into a conversation with them which we already know will inevitably end up the same old way they always do, a new thread can be started in OT or in that private discussion forum someone mentioned.

I just went and reviewed the thread. PrincetonGuy was getting into it about the Flood being a fake story. A couple of other non-creationists chimed in.

PG kept insisting he was answering the OP, while he was tearing my faith down completely, so I unsubscribed.

It's getting to be that there are so many different brands of creation and so many different brands of evolution that you can't have a conversation with anyone because we're not even working with the same definitions!

His profile said he was an old earth creationist. If I report the thread, there's nothing we can do, he's allowed to post here. But many OEC's believe that science can study and test the supernatural. William Lane Craig and J.P. Moreland have proposed the idea of Theistic Science. They are both old earth creationists, so it is not odd that an OEC would defend something like this. There's no reason to doubt he actually is an Old Earth Creationist. What I was trying to do was bring him back around to the issue in the OP. I really believe this idea of theistic science is the culprit for all these strange new interpretations of scripture that I feel some very sincere christians are falling for. They are trying to understand God scientifically, instead of theo-logically. I think the more YEC's understand this, the better they'll be able to understand why OEC's and TE's and getting fooled and the better they'll be able to debate with them. That's why I'm bummed my thread was sabotaged. I want to make sure if I post it again, they're not going to pull the same stunt.

But regarding the problem we're having with rouge TE's, what I don't understand is, if the same TE's come over here continually and break the rules, why don't they penalize them? How about a 3 strikes your out or something like that? That would end the problem. If they know they can come over anytime they want and try to taunt someone into exchanging with them, they're going to keep doing it. They'll do anything to keep us from talking.

How can simple words tear down your faith?
