This can actually be a pretty bad idea because when the alcohol wears off you'll start to wake up and instead of having a good night's sleep you'll be completely wired in the middle of the night thanks to that four hour nap you just had and won't be able to get back to sleep until ten minutes before you have to wake up.

I have nothing against going to heaven, just a few problems with the guy who runs the place. Although if it comes to being tortured forever or sticking to my convictions, I guess I'll just suck it up and love him.

Earth is hell, imo. (it's not heaven...)
I'm starting to think that God is going to set up shop and give everyone a final 1000 year reincarnation period (the 7th day), living under God's genius government that he intended to have in place all along. Then, if people can't even live decently under that, a final destruction
But, he's gonna torch everything first*, and ...restart the earth.
For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. 2But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. 3And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
4Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.
5Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: 6And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
However...the leaving neither root nor branch thing could complicate my theory... is it pre last 1000 years, does that include souls?

to be in Heaven is to be with God
to be with God is what we were made for
so either we love God and spend time with Him in Heaven
or we do not love God, and hate to be around Him
the people in hell will not be "sent to hell" they will go their willingly, trying to get as far away from God as they can.
and since we were made to be in loving communion with God, to be away from Him will be suffering. to go against our existential purpose

I wouldn't mind being around God, as long as he apologizes for threatening humanity with hell, and allowing people to die of cancer and all of that other horrible stuff. If he wants to love me, he needs to start treating me with more respect. It shouldn't be the other way around.

I think it makes perfect sense that I wasn't able to love or feel God's love growing up, because he didn't. I'm just hoping that having Christianity shoved down my throat growing up didn't screw up my view on love permanently. Many church leaders and Christians told me my views on God were messed up, but I think I had them right all along.
If you can make your relationship with God work then great, just don't expect me to force myself to love a being that I know deep down doesn't care for me. I can't think of anything else that would be more mentally damaging. It is certainly something I don't need at this point in my life.
It's like forcing a puzzle piece to a puzzle it doesn't belong too. Sure you may be able to hammer it in, but it will end up damaged and deformed.
And this is why I have to think for myself. Not to be cool or rebellious, but to hold on to the little sanity I have left. This goes for theists and other atheists.
