May i ask, what insight do you hope to gain by asking this question, knowing that it is likely to attract the mocking of One who is revered by believers at a Christian website?

This whole subforum is full of people who in one way or another seem to find fault with God. I offer them a thread to voice their opinions.

Most Christians hide behind the Bible while a few stand in front of it. Which kind are you?

Or do you think you are equal to him in intelligence and or wisdom? Make your case.
Yes. I am also smarter and wiser than Gandalf, Belgarath, Owl, Q, Merlin, and a whole host of fictional characters.

The type that's stupid enough to respond to a troll.

If you want to find more people to mock God with, there are plenty of secular humanist websites that contain forums where you can do that. Unless, of course, you enjoy targetting a Christian website where you know Christians will see it.

Have a nice day.

Do you think that you are smarter than Cthulhu, or are you equal to him in intelligence and wisdom? Make your case.

I doubt that anyone thinks they are smarter than God. Either they don't believe in him, which makes the question irrelevant to them, or they believe that God is more wise than themselves.

I would submit that those who appear to think they are smarter than God are most likely merely expressing disagreement with those that claim to speak for Him.

And I don't see anything wrong with that.

From a Buddhist point of view, one can not prove that there is a being called God, and since we cannot prove of God's existence, we cannot test his intelligence. All we can do is speculate, and none of that will necessarily draw us closer to the truth, so it's kind of a waste of time to think about.

Let me tell you a little, but true, story. Back in 4th grade, I was smart for my age. Advanced in about all areas except spelling. But even advanced as I was, I wasn't even on a high school, much less a college level. Anyways, one day I went to an 'open college' day, an event hosted by a local college where they offer one morning and one after noon class for the general public. I went as a part of my 'gifted' class, as we actually had a chance for learning something.

Anyways, while there, I went to one class of multidimensional mathematics. It was no linear algebra class, the math was kept on a level that the general public (or more so, the general public which would actually attend such a class) could understand. Towards the end of it, I saw a flaw in his math. Well, I being about 10, didn't think about how this was a Ph.D. in his field, or how he was sure to be right, and as such, I argued my point in full. Skip ahead 15 minutes, after re-working the equations, doing the multiple integrations (not talking calculus integrations, but the more common 'doing it again with the results of last time you did it' one), the professor finally conceded I was right.

As a 4th grader with far less knowledge (and wisdom) I stood my ground in what I believed.

So, if you happen to not get the moral of this story, you don't need to be on equal ground to challenge another. So, even if we aren't as wise or smart as God doesn't mean we can't have our problems with Him.

p.s. Also, I can wear a suit, and God can't, so on occasion I think I certainly look smarter than God.

You go to a conference where most people are in a suit but a few are in torn jeans and a shirt. The smartest (or at least most important) may be wearing the suit, unless this is a computer science meeting, then it is one of the guys (or maybe a team of them) who is dressed down.

You dress to impress, but some people no longer need to impress. Those are the best ones.

"Smart", where I come from, simply means "well-dressed". I was making a small joke.

I think of gods as fictional characters. Because fictional characters are products of human imagination, and because I am a real human being, your question regarding equality, intelligence and wisdom is moot. There is no case to be made.

Now, if what you really want to know is if I have an opinion about the doctrines of Christianity, that's a different question and would require specificity on your part.

Heee, I remember one of the first times I heard that in England. There was a party or concert or something, and somebody asked, "Do we have to be smart?"

Took me a second. I thought for a moment she was asking if there was an IQ test to get in.
