EW,
What is your point?

This is a VERY hypothetical discussion. I think everyone realizes this. No one knows EXACTLY what heaven is going to be like. All we do know is that we're going to be with our Lord for all eternity. Anything else is gravy.

Accusing people of selfishness over a hypothetical discussion like this is hardly fair. It is also not going to further your goals as an environmentalist.

People love their pets. That's a fact. They also love them more than someone else's pet or an animal in the wild. This is mostly due to familiarity. Not everyone has your passion for all animals. It's natural to want to see the things we love in heaven.

I love my dog. Would I like to have him with me in heaven? Sure. However, it's not up to me. I love the Lord way more than my dog. If He says no dogs allowed then I'm ok with that.

If God wants to include all animals, even insects, reptiles, and fish, in Paradise then I'm ok with that too.

In all the confusion I felt a tug on my leg.

I reached down to pick up the crawling baby, who himself was clutching a video.

The title... All Dogs Go to Heaven.
A coincidence? Or a message from an angel?

GREAT story Stormy.:) Definitely a message from God, delivered to you by an angel, thru a precious baby.:) You are greatly blessed. I think God probably sends messages to all of us, but most aren't listening and miss the message. Keep listening, there are no coinicidences.:)

Btw, I believe our pets will be in Heaven, and a lot of other animals too.

Auntie.

Once again, Do the pests that you kill go to heaven?

Does God want them in Heaven? Coz if He does, then they'll be there.:) He made a way for them to be on the earth; I don't doubt His ability to make a way for them to be in Heaven. Whatever His will is is fine with me! :D

I like the point you're making with insects being in heaven. If we assume that "all creation" is going to be there, then we have to entertain the possibility of even that creation some of us are not so fond of. EEK...spiders in heaven? Spiders make me crazy.

Anyway, I don't know for sure whether or not animals will be in heaven. My dog is my baby, and I love her very much, but if she goes to heaven, I don't think I'll even notice her there. We are going to be so busy worshipping God that things that were important to us in our lives will seem trivial. I think things are going to be more incredible than we can imagine....and seeing God's glory will be so overwhelming that we won't have the presence of mind to think of much else. :)

We have to also remember that heaven isn't about us. It's about God. We just happen to benefit from it.

Here are two prayers of St Basil the Great about animals.

The earth is the Lord's and the fulness thereof.
O God, enlarge within us the sense of fellowship with all living things, our brothers the animals to whom Thou gavest the earth as their home in common with us.
We remember with shame that in the past we have exercised the high dominion of man with ruthless cruelty so that the voice of the earth, which should have gone up to Thee in song has been a groan of travail.
May we realize that they live not for us alone, but for themselves and for Thee and that they love the sweetness of life even as we, and serve Thee better in their place than we in ours.

For those, O Lord, the humble beasts, that bear with us the burden and heat of day, and offer their guileless lives for the well-being of mankind; and for the wild creatures, whom Thou hast made wise, strong, and beautiful, we supplicate for them Thy great tenderness of heart, for Thou hast promised to save both man and beast, and great is Thy loving kindness, O Master, Saviour of the world.

it would be nice if my pets where in heaven... But i dont know.. I mean it never talks about God giving any animal other than human beings a soul... but i have always heard that heaven will be perfect... so to me, having no pets in heaven is far from perfect... so yeah... i would think my pets would be in heaven.. but if not.. im sure there will be so much up there that i wont have to worry about it..

Since I don't know John Edwards, and I don't know the restraints of the human spirit and mind, I'm not going to say he's right, and I'm not going to say he's wrong. Anyway, I belive 100% that animals go to heaven. Or at least, some sort of animal heaven.

HI,
YES I KNOW IN MY HEART ANIMALS WILL BE IN HEAVEN. WHEN JESUS COMES BACK HES COMING BACK ON A WHITE HORSE. THE BIBLE SAID "A RIGHTOUS MAN REGARDS THE LIFE OF HIS ANIMAL" PROV. 12 VS. 10. ALL IN THE BIBLE IT HAS STATMENTS ON ANIMALS. " THE LION SHALL LAY DOWN BY THE LAMB". I THINK THERES ALOT OF THING WE WILL SEEN IN HEAVEN THAT NOT SAID IN THE BIBLE. GOD TOLD NOAH TO TAKE 2 OF EVERY ANIMAL IN THE ARK. AND SO ON... I WROTE TO BILLY GRAHAM, PAT ROBERTSON AND JACK VAN IMPE AND THEY E-MAILED ME BACK ON MY QUESTION "DO YOU THINK ANIMALS WILL BE IN HEAVEN"? EACH ONE OF THEM SAID THEY THOUGHT THEY WOULD BE. THE FURBABIES I HAVE LOST ARE MY GUARDIAN ANGELS NOW.

GOD BLESS,
TERESA:angel:

I sure hope we are blessed with the presence of animals in heaven, but as for John Edwards....he is no savior, he is a very dangerous man who is leading people astray from the truth. The Word of God says "there shall not be found among you anyone ...who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord." Deuteronomy 18:10-12

That pretty much clinches it for me.

God gave humans a sole, but he also breathed the spirit of life into animals as well. I do personally believe animals will be in heaven. The Bible is a book about human's salvation, animals never sinned, so they never needed to be saved. God has a special place for his people, but he loves all of his creation. This includes insects. They are only pests because we think of them that way. When Jesus returns, even the rocks and the trees will declare his glory!
