  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I do, all the time.

Talking to yourself is NOT a sign of craziness, though some would say otherwise. Having an argument with yourself because you didn't take you to the dance-- now that would be crazy. So is asking yourself to repeat what you just said because you weren't paying attention.

I used to think I talked to myself but later realized that I was really talking to God...the deciding factor was based on the solutions that I ended up with often had nothing to do with what I wanted the answers to be. Most of my conversations are in my head...but they are kind of going on non-stop during the day.

I do. I will admit it. I can't help it. I carry on full blown conversations with my own self. I'm not crazy LOL

What about you? Do you talk to yourself?
When I need to make a quick decision,I will talk to myself in an audible voice.
But most of the time,I talk to myself inside my head. Yes,some people have told me that I live inside my head.

When I was working for the V.A. Mental Hospital, while working my way through college, one patient mumbled something. After I asked him what he said, his response was this. "Oh,don't mind me. I have a habit of talking to myself in French, and answering myself in German."

Sounds like a very good way to keep languages fresh. I've talked to so many who say the knew a language pretty good when they were young but have forgotten most of it as they aged and didn't use it. He was smart in my mind.

I sometimes talk to myself. Often in English. Sometimes in German - it just comes out in German or else I am deliberately saying something in German to keep it fresh in my mind since I usually don't get to converse with anyone in German. Sometimes I amuse myself by saying something in different accents - different English or different German accents. Not really making fun of people's accents - it just interests me how different accents or dialects developed.

I love accents! Australian is one of my favorites, and then English. I never really learned another language. I learned to say a few things in different languages, like in German I learned Sprechen Sie Deutsch? And in French I learned things like l'homme est au restaurant (the man is at the restaurant) and Dr. Strangelove c'est intelligent. I know a few in spanish too but not enough of any of it to carry a conversation. LOL

Are you kidding me? I do it all the time. And I talk to God. Talking to yourself is not bad. Answering yourself is a little nutty. Telling yourself that you're wrong is crazy.

Hahaha, well call me crazy and nutty then LOL. I talk to God all the time, and I also talk with myself and I will think something and then say to myself "I don't care" about whatever thought I was just having and it might have been a thought about my being wrong about something

Coo Coo for coco puffs that's me :D

Michelle, I'd assume you run into to quite a few Hispanics being were you are?

Yeah but I don't speak much spanish. The cleaning people at Kohls are spanish speaking and one of them is always trying to teach me stuff. I can say Como Se llama? (what is your name)
Que paso? (what's up)
qué hora es? (what time is it)
Hasta la vista (until I see you)
Manana (morning)
gracias por nada (thanks for nothing) LOL.

nothing major and I don't think I should have to learn spanish unless I go to Mexico or somewhere where that is the language they speak. We are in America and English is the preferred language IMHO. I'm a rebel. I have nothing against anyone, but I would never go to another country and expect them to cater to my language. I would need to learn how to communicate in their language. But that's just me.

When I was in junior high school,I received a "D" in English, and an"A" in Spanish. I wanted to learn Spanish for two reasons. Reason number two was for me to say some Spanish words to some of my favorite Major League Base Ball players; who were from Latin American Countries.

The number one reason was,so that I could know what Ricky Ricardo was saying to Lucy,as he was chewing her out on the "I Love Lucy" show.

I have thought about taking up Spanish because when the Castro regime finally passes from the scene, Cuba might become a dynamic place once they rebuild the country. It might be a nice place to visit or even retire to in 20 years. There could be investment opportunities. Who knows?

Lucy was amazing in her understanding of how to entertain people.

Yesrs ago I watched a documentary that was a biography of her. She played a ditzy character but she was actually a shrewd businesswoman in real life.
