My goals are entirely different than they were in past years. I used to care about my career and owning property and being financially stable. Here are my current goals.

1. To seek first the Kingdom of God and to know God in a more personable way.

2. To raise my two boys (9 and 13) to Love the Lord and serve him and to know their Bible

3. To fulfill the destiny that God placed me on this earth for.

4. To be debt free so I can give more into God's kingdom.

5. After I am debt free if the Lord allows me, I would like to purchase a personal watercraft for family fun.

My husband died in 2005 and I have been raising my boys by myself since then. Although I get SS for the kids, I still have racked up too much credit card debt. And I am praying that the Lord helps me get rid of it quickly. My boys do love the lord right now. We are in the process of reading the Bible together each weekday morning. We have read the new testament and are working our way thru the old testament. They really enjoy it and at least they will be able to say someday, that they have read the entire Bible (which is a question alot of non-christians always want to throw at you). Since I lost my husband I have learned to depend on the Lord more, and get to know him better. It is an amazing journey. We were created for HIS purpose, to please him, not the other way around as some suppose. We are all on a journey and I believe we all have a specific purpose for our lives.

God Bless you all,

With God on your side all things will be possible. He empowers people to do what He wants them to do.

You go girl!! You can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens you.

Just a post to say I am going back to school (again!!) for a new career after mommyhood.

Thats Great!! I have a friend that at the age 40 she decided that she wanted to be a Doctor and went to Med school. It is never to late to change or try something new.

I thought about that today.
It is good to see someone posting what I thought. We should pass on encouraging thoughts like that.

Most people I meet are still looking for direction.

May God guide and direct us always. We need his guidance and support. IF GOD IS FOR US WHO CAN BE AGAINST US?!!!!

I'm going back to school too, in August. I plan to get my degree in Social Work. It will take me approximately 2 years. I got the other 2 years done when I was young.

You know--life is funny. My goals these days are not anything like the ones I had when I was young. Weird, huh?

My short term goals are to get this house cleaned up while my husband is away at drill, and write the article about my friend that I'm supposed to write.

I hope you never have to go through finding out that all your goals have to change suddenly due to not having your husband there any longer.

When widowhood became mine I knew the Lord had not forsaken me but I didn't know how hard it would be to get a new identity and how hard a lot of other things would become.

No sob story from me. Just facts. I read these posts and see other people struggle with the same issues I have or worse problems than I presently know.

Trying to learn how to get Godly direction on your own when you used to have someone help with that and a lot of other things is like not knowing which way to turn a lot of the time. And then there's the yo yo thing they say widows/ widowers go through....

I can only tell you that WE NEED THE LORD!

God is our ever present help in times of trouble. HE is truly the only one that can help us whether we go to school again or try to seek employment or pray about a possible new mate or whether we struggle with loved ones having terrible diseases or disabilities. WE NEED THE LORD.

Life is funny. Your words made me think of all the things I just wrote on here.

If we are blessed enough to take one day at a time and if we can help one another by showing the love HE wants us to show and if we can recall that LOVE NEVER GIVES UP as we take a daily walk we are doing all we can. Do you think anyone can expect more?

I wonder if I should have typed all of that. I need to be careful of typing too much when I get this tired.

Still trying to find a way to stop those emails from coming to my outlook.

El Elena, you are just about the sweetest, most insightful, compassionate member I've ever come across.
Your heart comes through in your posts.

You're right...WE NEED THE LORD.

There's no use even setting any goals if we don't rely upon Him daily. He is the center and the meaning and the purpose.

LOVE NEVER FAILS.
