Remember when the McDonald's character lineup had Mayor McCheese?

(we're on a McDonald's theme here)

How about the pies at McDonalds that were deep fried, and came in apple or cherry.

And I remember ordering a milkshake there and they actually had to make it, not just push a button on a shake machine.

Remember when the Burger King fish sandwich was called a "whaler"? (don't think PETA approved!)

How about restaurants that had a phone on each table, and when you were ready to order you picked up the phone and talked to the person in the kitchen who took your order.
actually our area was a test area for Mcdonald's doing this over the past about 5 yrs. It was called a McDiner. Of course it flopped so they redid the Mcdonald's that they did it here over the past yr.

Cracker Jacks used to have pretty cool prizes -- now, they seem to be mostly junk.

Remember reaching into the full cereal box and feeling through the cereal to get the prize?

LOL - I used to dump the cereal out into a big bowl, get the prize, then put it back!

Its all coming back!! lol I remember Cabbage Patch Kids, Strawberry Short Cake, and My Little Pony..... I have noticed that thats what is popular again.

Yes! I remember them all! I even had one of the Parker Brothers Cabbage Patch Kids story books. It was called, "The Shyest Kid in the Patch".

I too have noticed -- a lot of the things from the '70s and '80s are coming back in again. Recently, I discovered there's even a new version of Holly Hobbie -- wearing modern stylish outfits (blue jeans and all) rather than the one I remember who wore a nineteenth-century costume consisiting of a patchwork dress and oversized bonnet.

Does anyone remember slouch socks? and leg warmers? I had every color of the rainbow!! lol Oh yeah and ear muffs. lol

Slouch socks and leg warmers were all the rage back in the day. I also remember when two different color pairs of slouch socks were worn at the same time to give a layered "two-toned" effect.

Ear muffs -- but of course! I had a pair of teddy bear face ear muffs.

Speaking of offbeat fashions -- I can remember when some of the kids wore overalls with one strap (or even both straps) unfastened. However, I never saw the point in wearing them like that. To me, the bib should be OVER the chest and the straps OVER the shoulders. They are called OVERalls, and should be worn as such. Besides, I think the bib and strap deal is exactly what makes overalls so adorable.
