Do you play massive multiplayer online role playing games? If so, which ones? Currently I'm playing one called Secret of the Solstice. It's new, I enjoy it, but I think it's too cute. I feel like I'm attacking stuffed animals. :tutu:

Sure, has been my favorite genre by far for over a decade. I’ve played many many of them as well as having studied them. Right now I’m just playing Anarchy Online. I’m also playing some others, but they are independent developer game projects that are in alpha stages that I doubt any here have heard of, but may in the future. I also play my own mmog, which is also in alpha development, though not open to the public yet. I licensed a game engine some years back and have been developing something for a commercial release, given time.

I’m looking forward to Star Trek Online, but at this point it’s uncertain who will finish development on that since the license has traded hands to last I heard a development studio that hasn’t announced the fact yet. Star Gate Worlds looks interesting, may be worth checking out. I don’t play WoW or any of those, I usually stay away from games that are Pagan in nature, as most/all magic user type games are.

I was seriously hooked on EQ from 2001-2003, then I tried Ultima Online, Asheron's Call, Anarchy Online, WoW, Vanguard, Guild Wars, Eve, etc, etc, etc. I haven't even felt the urge to play any MMORPGs lately. Nothing has grabbed me the way EQ did back in the day and I've lost interest in the genre.

I've played a good amount of MMOs out there. Been playing Ultima Online now for 10 years or so, but I am getting ready to sell my acount as I rarely play it anymore. I've played most of the ones out now here or there and a lot that never made it past a year of release.

Currently waiting on Darkfall Online to hit beta. It looks phenomenal.

WoW since its swedish release. Tried Lord of the Rings Online, Dungeon and Dragons Online, RF Online, EQ, EQ2, Guild Wars and Swords of the New World. Nothing got me hooked like WoW though. Probably since I've been a huge Warcraft fan since Warcraft 1 :) And had the luck to find a good guild where you can actully log into the game just to chat with them and not do anything else. Or even just screw around and do fun things in the game. Also the guild is a good blend of casual and hardcore and no one is forced to play certain hours to be allowed to be in the guild. Know its a good guild when they actully allow for breaks in the middle of things cuase someone have to go and tuck their kids to bed :)

So my husband and my bil totally got me hooked on World of Warcraft! I love it. ( My hubby even got us matching Pally t-shirts, while he was in the States for school a few weeks ago. I LOve it! He won't wear anything else matching with me at all, so, Yay!)

I tried Lord of the Rings, but the lag was too awful for me to enjoy it at all. I have all the Guild Wars, but found it is too hard to play by myself at 20, and I don't know anyone that will help me. tried a few guilds, but wow, there are some FRUITcakes out there! Or jerks.

I'd like to work at Cheyenne Mountain. It looks like a pretty good company.

I've been reading up on Stargate Worlds, and I'm really looking forward to it.

From what I've read, their doing away with some of the traditional MMO archetypes (tank, nuke, healer). Everyone can heal, but healing isn't something that can be done long-range. The combat is more about using cover and superior tactics to defeat enemies. IOW, acting as a tank to take all damage will kill you.

Check out the Wiki.

Star Wars Galaxies...
Im sorry to hear that :)

I play EVE Online. I sometimes play RF Online and Voyage Century, but not often.

EVE is by far my favorite. Something about mounting three or four 1400mm Howitzer Artillery and opening fire with Proton, Phased Plasma, or Fusion shells off the sides of a Typhoon Battleship just makes me very very VERY happy.

I played WoW for a while...but I got bored quickly with it. It was just too much grinding and not enough actual action
