Do you long for Heaven?

Everything is perfectly fine for me, but my soul longs for Heaven and the presence of God. I want to hear God speak and learn from his wisdom. Or maybe I want to explore entire new planets and places he made.

I have the notion that people who got shafted on Earth will get glorious rewards in Heaven. Because of this, I want to work hard so I got stuff to donate to those of us who are poor. I think the poor on Earth may be the wealthy in Heaven: See Lazarus and the rich man. So I want to have lots of friends in Heaven to share in their riches!

I'm still wondering why its so hard to make a living on Earth when I have a college education and I'm very skilled at what I do. The economy is seriously screwed up or something. Thank God he hooked me up with a Christian crew associated with Sky Angel that makes video games. I never made money making a video game in the past, but maybe that will change and I can build an empire. My coworker got a contract for $100 an hour, and I code the same level as he does. It really seems like soon I'll be making $100/hr or more!

God says not to serve money as your master, but money makes a good servant to change the world. With enough money, you can solve the problem of starving people!

I just wanted to tell you, that very few people will honestly realize in their lifetime that this is the best way to view life. And I mean actually realize it, not just talk about it.

Good luck with your new job! It sounds like fun! I too am looking forward to Heaven and God's rewards. I hate how bad the economy is, but I trust that God will take care of me, even in these hard times.

Like you wouldn't believe, I've longed for Heaven for a long time; and like you, I've definitely wanted to visit the universe. I know God knows that's what I want when I die, the universe is just so profound; full of His infinite wisdom.

I don't. For several reasons.

First is that I was obviously placed on Earth for a reason. Dunno what it is, but if I spend all my time wishing I were somewhere else, I'll miss all the wonders God has put right in front of me, and odds are I'll also miss whatever God's intended me to do. To quote Yoda:
"Never his mind on WHERE HE WAS hm, WHAT HE WAS DOIN'!"

Second, nobody knows what Heaven will be like. Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, mind has not conceived what God has ready. I just can't seem to long for something that I know nothing and can know nothing about.

I also think that God can be with us on Earth just as much as in Heaven. He was with people at the beginning, He was with people when He walked among us as Jesus, He can be with us today. And He wouldn't have put us on Earth unless He WANTED us here, so... yeah, I dunno.

This may sound bad but I've always kind of seen it as the opposite. I'm sure heaven's great and all but according the Bible we'll be doing two things: praising and working.

Now don't get me wrong: those are fine in and of themselves but I already attend church and work during the week. I was just hoping heaven would be different instead of the same old routine. I'll miss playing golf and writing music and being able to go on adventures. I'll miss Humphrey Bogart films and reading Raymond Chandler and being able to goof around with friends after a long day. I just figure we'll be so happy that we won't realize that we're essentially doing the same thing every day for all eternity.

I still want to go to heaven and I don't mean to sound selfish. I just don't want it to be boring, which it sounds like it may be. Just being honest!

For me, it's hard to long for Heaven, since I know so little about it, and there aren't any travel guides for it. Not quite the same as say, really anticipating a trip to San Francisco, and increasing my longing with pictures of the Embarcadero or write-ups of the Golden Gate and the Haight-Asbury district.

But one thing I really look forward to is seeing those who have fallen asleep, and those who I've long lost contact with; and that we'll finally understand each other completely. No more misunderstandings, no more misconceptions, etc.
