Do you know the name of this cartoon from the 80's?

I used to watch a cartoon in 1987 or so, the last year they showed "Today's Special". The reason I remember is because I watched the cartoon after that show. I believe the cartoon was Japaneze animation, and it was about a girl that would catch commets with a net and travel to other planets. The style of animation now reminds me of the way the Jap. anime are made, so it reminds me of that. I will give 2000 blessings to anyone who finds the name of this cartoon, and convinces me it is it.
