Lets say I could introduce you to Him, right now, in the flesh. Would you believe it was Him? Or would you dismiss him because of the way He looked or the fact that He didnt come the way you believe He should?yes ... here .... He was standing right in front of them (in the physical)
we know we have a spiritual relationship with the Lord ... but He is not here in the physical ..... yet ;o)

After you get your answer, re-read post 53.....
well ... that can't happen ... when He returns the 1st resurrection happens ... the saved dead will be resurrected and the saved living will be translated ... so there isn't going to be any question.
Exodus 3:20
But," he said, "you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live."
so .. no one can see God and live ... unless they have been resurrected or translated first.
Did you read post 53 again? Arent we saying now, exactly what was said back then...and for the same reasons? We know the scriptures and how He should come....and if anyone comes speaking anything contrary to that....they will be dismissed. Nothing knew under the sun.
"And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God"
We know the scriptures and how He should come..
I find no fault in your interpretations. We know how He will come.
Perhaps I missed the point you were making with Jonah.
and yes ... all have, are and will continue to be looking forward to His 2nd coming ... and it's going to be very very evident when it happens ... until then we dismiss any claims of anything different.
We will receive new fleshly and spiritual bodies when He returns.
1 Corinthians 15:36-50
You foolish person! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. And what you sow is not the body that is to be, but a bare kernel, perhaps of wheat or of some other grain. But God gives it a body as he has chosen, and to each kind of seed its own body. For not all flesh is the same, but there is one kind for humans, another for animals, another for birds, and another for fish. There are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is of one kind, and the glory of the earthly is of another. ...
They are called "PARABLES", and yes, Jesus said it was so those He was speaking to would not understand , would not see...... THEN JESUS EXPLAINED the parables to HIS DISCIPLES, but not to the crowds....Why do people complicate this?
Jesus did not come and give us a series of riddles and hidden “gotchas” that only a few will figure out on their way to completing a salvation test. God is not trying to trick anyone. He wants all to be saved and made it as easy as possible.
Anyone who seeks God's Kingdom , and keeps seeking God's Kingdom, seeking God Himself, and His Help, will find Him, as God Himself Promises in His Word.If a non-believer came to this forum seeking advice on how to become saved they would probably leave confused because so many people on this forum add their own salvation caveats and pitfalls. Confusion that is sown is definitely not from God.
I was born and raised LCMS, and as far as I know we were always taught we had to repent of our sins, turning to God away from sin and asking for His Saving Power in Jesus...Jesus Christ is Lord. He rose from the dead. Because I believe he, and only he, took my place and was crucified for sin, my sins are forgiven. There’s nothing I did, nothing I am doing now, or nothing that I will ever do that makes me deserve this.
My attempts at being obedient, my supposed love for others, and my love of God with all my heart and all my soul are all woefully inadequate to deserve eternal life in his presence.
I feel sorry for those that do not think that they can be sure until the day they die.. or that it is some kind of journey.
It is such a human habit and a Satanic corruption of the gospel, to add to a perfect gift, the need for human input and action toward their salvation, when it is a complete and free gift that we can do absolutely nothing to contribute toward it's accomplishment.I think some people prefer it this way. It seems more reassuring to some to look at their own accomplishments and obedience to be reassured rather than having faith in Christ alone.
Yea man I agree. Why do people complicate this?

People on this forum are quick to point out why others are not saved but few will state specifically and conclusively why THEY are saved.

I know I’m saved because I know 100% that I don’t deserve to be saved, and 100% of my faith is in Jesus for salvation. My attempts at being obedient, my supposed love for others, and my love of God with all my heart and all my soul are all woefully inadequate to deserve eternal life in his presence. Only Christ makes it so.
