Interesting, I've never raised my hands in worship. Is that something supported in scripture?
We do it to bring our body into remembrance of the Holy Trinity, and the Cross, to invoke Christ's protection and mercy over our lives, to pray, to gain victory over our flesh, in some cases to ward off evil, and to conform ourselves in a small way to Christ, crucified.I'm curious as I'm new to the Catholic church. What is the meaning of crossing self?
There are Bible verses that support it. I raise my hands sometimes in worship, at the unction of God, and i do in prayer also, at times. Once i stood on my Bible, vowing to "stand on His Word" with all that is in me, as i prayed.
God will give us the unction as He sees fit.
He's a GOOD Shepherd. i LOVE how He leads each of us individually. Remember Gideon, and how He led him with such tenderness and patience? That's our God. It's one of the reasons i love Him so much. He's done similarly with me.

I've always liked crossing myself. Makes sense.
All three are acceptable. At Mass, the sign of the Cross is done a number of times, throughout the liturgy.I'll add it to my prayers. Do we cross after the prayer, before or during?

That's cool! Glad you do this.As a Catholic, I'm probably not the right protestant to ask.I would go with what Gracia Singh says above.
For me, I cross myself as a reminder of the Triune God that I worship and to mark the sacred moment of prayer I am about to enter into.
That's awesome! I've done this, too. Same results.I regularly kneel to pray, not just at church, but also at home.
I remember during a time of major personal crisis, not only kneeling in prayer, but lying prostrate on the floor. The Lord came to me in a very powerful way that day and I will never forget it.
I've sobbed before in sorrow also.The best praying I ever did, was face down on my carpet, sobbing, and telling God I was sorry...
They quote 1 Timothy 2:8, where "lifting up holy hands" is mentioned.
Which is ok, but that doesn't and shouldn't negate other body postures used in worship.
This is what they seem to want it to look like;
I'm more ok with this;
Personally.
I pray standing up but I try to do my personal prayers with prostrations from Monday to Friday.
What do you mean by answers?I'm somewhat new to the prostrate prayer and I have a question. Do you find that you get answers more through this type of prayer?
What do you mean by answers?
I feel calm at the moment in both positions. Since I am alive and with family, I suppose He has answered at least some of my prayersLove, Joy, Peace, or feel the Holy Spirit (communication with God) or answers to your prayers, etc. Or do you just find it more appealing to pray that way? Just curious about that type of prayer.
