And then what would the birds eat?
I don't mean every bug, just destructive or introduced ones. Birds don't even eat many introduced bugs because it has never been part of their diet. One reason those bug populations explode. I don't think creating sterile offspring will ever wipe out a bug, just help to reduce numbers.

they eat everything in Mexico... Everything from a cow or bull can be turned into some kind of recipe it seems. And the corn smut we try to prevent here is a delicacy. I admittedly tried it at home when my corn grew some and it really didn't taste bad at all...

That's a fungus and so are mushrooms--still I have never tried it. Everyone I know who has, says it's very good.

...by the way, i never ever kill crickets.
I personally love to hear the crickets carrying on while floating around in my pool at night under the stars.

But we spray for pests a lot down here in Arizona.

Killing crickets is the name of the game when it comes to controlling scorpions around the homes.

To kill the food source for those big bad boys is the main goal of spraying for home owners.

Yeah it wasn't bad at all, from what I remember. I would certainly be willing to try it again, though I'd rather have nice corn.

I never kill Black Widow spiders---I sweep them outside. As a child I used to play with Black Widows, had a big box in the basement where I kept them, and I'd stick my hands in their nests and they'd crawl on me. I thought they were pretty. Hey---lonely kids do strange things!---I never got bit. Later I found out they are venomous--I think now, that I am afraid of their bite, I would get bitten. I don't kill crickets either, or Lady bugs. My St. Bernard used to eat those big, ugly tomato worms off the tomato plants--Gross, but he loved them.

LOL! That IS gross about the tomato worms ^_^

I always question that method... When we have a bug introduced that happens to prefer a specific native tree to live off of, they start cutting down all those trees - which are already threatened. So basically they're accomplishing the bugs' work for them. Some of those trees may have survived... It's a bad strategy.

We absolutely kill bugs! If they are in my house, they are fair game.

I call my girls the Bug Brigade because they don't care how big the bug is, including spiders and roaches, they go after it and eliminate it. They are fearless!

BTW, you have an interesting avatar. :)
It represents my sadness for my current situation. :(

So are alligators, cobras, and other venous creatures, so are hungry wild lions and tigers, and elephants, though not carnivorous, can be a bit of a problem in the home. And the bodily eliminations of these creatures also pose a health hazard, not to mention an olfactory assault.
Are you serious?! Cockroaches and many other bugs carry horrible diseases, and can painfully bite. If you want to live with them, be my guest, just please do not invite me over for dinner nor bring me any of the food you have cooked in your home. And BTW---do you wash your hands after going to the bathroom? Remember, germs and viruses are God's creation also.
Of course, at this point it may be a little hard to tell as to what was an original creation of God and what Satan has genetically altered to try and destroy us and make our lives miserable.
Fair enough, I will see if I ask about insects in TAW.

Do you do it because it is necessary?
Remember they are creation of God.
I kill mosquitoes. Everything else gets scooped up, and dumped outside.

"C'mon, little earwig, c'mon! Let's get you outside!"
