Yeah. Somewhere he went wrong and never got the Holy Spirit. I think he had a demon or something and Peter saw that or knew that somehow. It's possible that his heart might have been wicked to begin with and his belief was not genuine. But it could also have been genuine in the beginning and then later became wicked when he seen the power of God and wanted that power for the wrong reasons. He did after all try to buy the Spirit so as to obtain the gifts. This is when Peter said he was wicked and not before. Peter did not say that he never truly believed and his acceptance of God was a sham. He merely condemned his sin.
This is not a thread about Dr Prince. But I am fully aware of ALL of his teachings. I personally knew him.His beliefs are ultra disturbing. So I am steering clear of him with a ten foot pole. Just Google his disturbing beliefs for yourself. Use key words that would help you to identify someone who does not teach correctly and you will see what I am talking about.
Well said. I agree.
Oh, and you are going to Thanksgiving under an uncomfortable situation?
If so, then I am proud of you, brother.
Forgive, and love them with the love of Christ, brother.
Stay strong!
Yes, I am going. Thank you for your advice.

You're never not if you are.Very true, at least until you're not.
I take John 3:19-21 to mean that those who do not want their sin or the fact that they are a sinner, exposed (by the light) (Job of the Law) and the fact that even their sins (deeds) were wrought in (the will of) God, or are, or perhaps "were" (past tense) all a part of God's plan for them... these ones that love the light will freely admit, but not brag or try to justify or anything, their sins (deeds), and that even those were or are, or were a part of God's plan and will for them, that led them (brought them) to where they are with God (now), and are or were a part of where they are going...the definition of confess
verb (used with object)
“Now this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world and men loved the darkness instead of the light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light and does not come to the light, so that their deeds will not be exposed. But whoever practices the truth comes to the light, so that it may be made known that his deeds have been accomplished in God.”
- to acknowledge or avow (a fault, crime, misdeed, weakness, etc.) by way of revelation.
- to own or admit as true:I must confess that I haven't read the book.
- to declare or acknowledge (one's sins), especially to God or a priest in order to obtain absolution.
- John 3:19-21
Yet everything exposed by the light is being made visible, for everything made visible is light.
- Ephesians 5:13-14
The one who walks in darkness doesn’t know where he is going.
- John 12:35
Now this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you—that God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with Him and keep walking in the darkness, we are lying and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of His Son Yeshua purifies us from all sin.
- 1 John 1:5-7
We confess when we slip up and when the flesh gets the better of us. We do it because we are saved. A truly converted person will want above all to live a totally holy life because "without holiness no-one will see the Lord." and "Except your righteousness exceed that of the Scribes and Pharisee, you shall not inherit the kingdom of God." This is why any truly converted Christians will have such a strong desire to maintain absolute holiness that he or she will be constantly coming to God's throne of grace to talk to God and discuss their shortcomings, weaknesses and failures. When they get into a bind, they will come to God and work things out with Him so that the Holy Spirit will "bail them out" and get them on the right path again.Do you have to keep confessing sin through out your life to be saved?
I believe based on the Bible that the answer to this question would be a resounding.... "Yes."
This is based primarily upon 1 John 1:9
(But we can see it expressed in other verses in the Bible).
What do you say?
And can you support your belief on this with the Bible?
If so, then please provide the verses.
Thank you.
Oh, and also please vote in the poll, too.
Thank you.
And may God bless you all this fine day.
Side Note:
The poll options only allow me to say so much.
I wish I could add more words to the poll options but I cannot.
Anyways, it is implied that if you confess sin, it is also required that you have:
(a) A belief in Jesus and
(b) To confess those sins to Jesus.
(b) A Godly sorrow as a part of confessing sins.
If you disagree, then vote in the option that says, "Yes (Other, - please explain)"
If you voted wrong or if you feel you have changed your mind on this topic at some point, you are free to change your vote in the poll. Thank you; And may God bless you.
Gospel of grace and freedom not slavery and works.

lol. And it's strange how works orientated salvation makes desperate accusations at grace saying it is because grace is a "sin all you want" salvation, according to your words.Strange how they immediately start pushing the "slavery and works" accusation as defense.
I personally know no one who depends on works alone for salvation, (I'd suggest a simple search for "faith and works") so since the claim isn't even true, it can only be a very desperate attempt at a defense for a "sin all we want" salvation. Why are such desperate attempts needed...a good question I think.
Also, I can only assume grace only also means Jesus was wrong in the Sheep and the Goats parable, and we no no longer have to help the poor in order to make heaven.
Easy peasy salvation, people love it.
I agree with what I quoted: that the simple "change the mind" definition is inadequate and not workable by itself.
Asking forgiveness and repentance are 2 related but distinct things.
I may get angry and bash your face in for doing something stupid.
Later, I may ask your forgiveness (for you to not hold my violence against me) but reserve to myself the right to do it again if you do something I see as "stupid." That is asking forgiveness but without repentance.
OR - I may just make a vow to myself I need to change how I react to something that appears "stupid." And I even tell you I will never do that again. But I do not ask you to forgive me for what I already did. That is repentance without asking forgiveness.

What was the works of salvation that the rich man had to do?Right, why would Jesus allow the rich man to walk away with thinking He had to do works for salvation

I've never read in the Bible this 'sin all you want' desperate attempt at slandering other children of God.
Why are such desperate attempts needed...a good question I think.
Sounds like we have the pot calling the kettle black situation here. Hi Pot.
What was the works of salvation that the rich man had to do?
Maybe it was because the rich man loved his money and that wealth was an idol and more important than God.
The only thing Jesus asked was to give away his money.
That’s not a work.
