No, you are not. The bible NEVER speaks about turning from sin as a way to salvation. That is works... How can you claim the turning away from sin isn't a work? Just answer that question... What is works to you? Do you not realize there are many sins you don't even know about that you commit? Do you not realize we are born into sin, and even though we live in the spirit and forsake the flesh, we still have the old flesh and sinful nature? You are not following the bible and you do not know what repent means. You sound brainwashed by false teachers and pastors. "Repent" means change of mind, this was specifically used to the pharisees who relied on the law to save them. Jesus was telling them to repent and trust on him. To change their minds. To recognize they are sinners in need of a saviour. Repent also means a spiritual conversion and deep sorrow, related to getting born again by faith in Jesus Christ alone.

What did Paul say to you need to do to get saved? He said believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. He did not say turn away from sin. Neither did Jesus. Salvation is by faith alone.

To turn from sin for salvation is WORKS BASED SALVATION because turning from sin TAKES EFFORT AND IT'S A WORK. IT IS NOT BIBLICAL REPENTANCE. You are making your own definition of repentance by pastors and teachers that is not biblical and not mentioned anywhere in the bible. I rebuke your false teaching in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. AFTER I got saved, months after, I have overcome pornography (all glory to him for my deliverance). But before that, if I did not get saved and have the holy spirit I would need to do works to do this and rely on my own flesh to overcome sin. Turning from sin to get saved and receive the holy spirit is works salvation... It's using your flesh and turn from sin in order to gain salvation, that is works... How do you not understand this? We will always have sin. What you are teaching is not biblical, and it goes against the core message of the gospel.

What you teach is not biblical repentnece. Repentance means a change of mind, it is NOT by definition turning from anything... Where do you see in the dictionary does it say turning from sin for repentance? In the bible, it never mentions salvation is granted when you turn from sin, it never says that what repentance is. "Repent" is a term that's used all over the bible for different purposes. Sometimes in regards to sin, but when the gospel is preached for salvation, it NEVER says "turn away from your sins" for salvation. You may as well be a Catholic, Muslim, or Buddhist because that's works based salvation. Believing Jesus isn't enough for your salvation, and that you have to make an effort for it. So don't say it is biblical when it isn't.

Turning from sins for salvation is works based salvation and it is heresy. To get saved you repent (change your mind) and recognize you are a sinner in need of a saviour. You believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, that he died for your sins, and that is how you get saved and born-again. Anyone who tries to add to this perfect gospel, God will surely deal with them because it is heresy. After you get born again, sanctification happens. That's when works and repentance of sins occur. But that's not what saves you, sanctification is only a follow-up and byproduct of salvation. We are saved by GRACE through FAITH ALONE, not your works or the turning from sin... That is unbiblical and you teach a false gospel.

I apologize, it is possible you have the holy spirit but you are very deceived by religious spirits... That's for sure. I beg of you to repent... Because this false gospel you believe cannot save you. Jesus' finished work on the cross can only save you. Not your works, effort, performance, or how little you sin.

Also, how can you claim to not believe in sinless perfection then? Lordship Salvation leads to sinless perfection doctrine. When you think turning from sin saves you, that means you have to turn from ALL sins and be sinless. Or does God grade on a curve? Because according to you he is grading us on the sins we turn from, not the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross...

I am sorry to get upset with you but it infuriates me when people preach a false gospel. I am usually pretty calm but when someone perverts the perfect gospel of Jesus Christ that sets me off... Holy spirit discernment bells in me go off, I see people's pride and religious thinking right away when they preach this false gospel. Not you specifically, I am speaking generally... But I apologize I was impatient and the words I said and accusations. Only God knows where you stand with him. I just hope you listened at least to what I was saying.

I already know Jesus. I have known him for over 2 years now. I am confident in my salvation and that I am sealed until the day of redemption and he is working on me in my life and sanctifying me. I don't boast in any good works I do, any good I do comes from him, I just preach the real gospel as best I can. And the real gospel is faith alone in Jesus Christ dying for your sins for salvation. Not works salvation which is turning from all sins in order to gain entry to heaven like you are teaching which is unbiblical...

May I ask if you believe you have to turn from sins to get saved, how come you don't believe in sinless perfection then? How is anyone supposed to get saved then, according to your theology? Doesn't turning from sin require sinless perfection in the end? If you think you need to actually turn away from all sin to get saved, which is what sinless perfection is...

How to get saved (notice all of these verses don't speak of stop sinning/turn away from sin to get saved)

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

Acts 16:30-31 “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

John 5:24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life."

Romans 10:9-10 "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."

The gospel is not hard to understand...

No, fruit inspecting is something that God condemns and it comes from pride and unrighteous judgement... To know someone's fruit does not mean how much they obey, absolutely wrong and unbiblical. When you read the biblical context of the fruit of the tree, it is always talking about how someone preaches the word of God and if there is truth in them... So for what I am observing by you, you bear bad fruit because you weren't preaching the true gospel. But for someone who teaches things that backs up scripture, they have good fruit. Fruit has NOTHING to do with how holy you look to others, the bible never says that. The bible says fruit is about what you preach, the truth, and the way you present the gospel. Fruit inspecting is not what God calls us to do, only to be aware of false gospels.

Every sin is wilful... There's no such thing thing as perfect unwilful sinning. Every time you sin, you made that decision to do it.

It's not about what you say... Read the verses. The bible speaks for itself. It is the belief that Jesus died for your sin... It is an acknowledgement that you are a sinner in need of a saviour. It is the belief Jesus died on the cross and rose on the third day. It's this faith in his grace, in Jesus alone, that saves you. That is what gets one born-again. And how one gets to that point varies.

AFTER you get born again by faith alone, you get the holy spirit and your heart changes. You get sanctified, you overcome sins you struggle with, you change the direction of your life, you are a new person in Christ. You live in the spirit. But the flesh is still there so you will have sin. You put in good works and reasonable service to the Lord. You don't "live in darkness" anymore, you do have a changed repentant heart and you are made righteous in Jesus, and already sealed and saved from what he did on the cross and that doesn't change ever, but you want to put in good works to God and serve him for his kingdom out of LOVE for him, not to get saved or to maintain your salvation or out of fear of losing your salvation or obligation, but out of genuine love for him. So you are right you don't live in darkness anymore and the direction of your life has changed. All glory to God for that. The holy spirit inside you gets all the glory for your good works, not you as you don't do it out of the flesh. BUT this DOES NOT SAVE YOU. This is sanctification process, AFTER you have already been saved... This is after salvation. This is good works not to get saved or because you have to, but good works because you are already saved. Good works because you love God. See the difference? The motive is different and this is important. Salvation is an event, it is a supernatural conversion event. It is not a process. Sanctification is a process, after you have already been saved. Salvation is not earned. It is a free gift. It is given to you by God. We're saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

Sanctification is a process and every sin you know you've committed is willful... We have the choice to go through with sin or not. Christians are not perfect in terms of willful sinning either, no one is. That's why we need Jesus, plain and simple.

Anyways I tried my best to get through to you but if you don't change your mind on salvation we will have to just agree to disagree I guess... I'll pray for you and everyone else that you truly grasp the gospel. It is difficult for our carnal minds to understand. Because we can get deceived by some teachings and think "That's not fair Jesus did it all, people need to earn it and put in work for salvation and stop committing sin in order to be saved!" That comes from the human mind. But God works differently in that he comes to us in our darkest time, when we are filthy with sin, and calls us son then and there. Jesus forgave us for all our sins, it is nothing we earn or no action, we did nothing to deserve it. We didn't stop sinning or turn from sin to deserve it. It's truly beautiful and shows God's grace... As humans we always think we need to do something to be righteous and justified before God, but Jesus did it all... If you truly want to overcome sin you will need to know this because you can only overcome sin by the spirit, not the flesh, and you can only do it out of genuine love of God after you have already been saved. God knows everyone's hearts and our motives. If he sees someone try to stop sinning in order to get saved, he will not save that person because they didn't trust in Jesus alone for their salvation. That person will get destroyed. I will never stop preaching the true gospel, the gospel that saved me, the gospel that everyone seems to forget about. God saves through faith. Even before Jesus, when Israelites were looking forward to the cross, they were not justified by the law but by faith. Even Abraham, he was justified by faith, not the law. This is the basic fundamental core of the Christian faith every Christian should understand.

Can you explain how trying to stop sin and "seeking" isn't works for salvation? Do you know what works means? It means some form of effort, big or small, it means an action... A work is an action. "Seeking" and "obedience" and "turning" from sin aren't words of action? Stopping something like sin isn't an action? So how could you say it isn't works? By basic logic and definition, surely you know this makes no sense? I think you know that's works-based salvation.. Doing something to get salvation, this includes "turning" "seeking" "obedience" whatever for salvation, it's works salvation... Explain how it isn't, using the definition of works? Works doesn't apply to just rituals... Works applies to any action a person takes, including turning away from sin, in order to get salvation. Turning away from sin is a work, therefore works-based salvation.
