Oh, I've been done with this for well over half a year but he just keeps on writing. I don't want to cut him off completely because he's doing military training that's pretty rough and doesn't have any other support from his family, so he needs someone to at least take a little bit of interest in what he's doing. But he brought this on himself. Not to make myself out to be anything I'm not, but I was Super Girlfriend for him. Always writing, always sending stuff, always thinking of little things I could do for him and then going incredibly far out of my way to do them. And that entire time, all he could do was hint at how, "This (our relationship) won't work. I really want it to, but it just won't." Again, LAME.

Anyway, the Lord has totally changed everything in that department and one minor thing I've learned while becoming a Christian is that Christian guys are absolutely incredible. So, no complaints. Just the occasional German rants.

I have a question concerning crushes: what if you have a crush on someone and you notice someone else flirting with that person? Does it make you jealous? Or how do you react?

Sorry, I'm on a self-examination journey and this is something I haven't always handled well in the past.

It all depends. Is the person you're crushing on unattached? The person flirting could be the crush's SO. That would change everything.

It would probably be a turnoff. Just the very idea that she would have someone else's attention would make the crush appear to be a waste of time.

Well, a person can't really help it just because someone is attracted to them and flirts with them.

If I am being honest, I guess I would be a little jealous. Then it makes it difficult to understand my feelings and I end up getting totally confused about the situation. But if he ends up flirting back then I know it is time to move on from it and work through all the feelings. I guess I find that crushes end up consuming me in a way so it is hard for me to see the reality of the situations. Having said that once a crush gets into a relationship it is all over. I am crush free.

I guess that is why I have decided to be crush free. My new mantra is "no more crushes!" If a guy likes me and I am interested in him and we end up talking and confessing our feelings then all for it but no more crush games. They are tiring and usually only make me sad when my crush goes and finds someone else and I am left with "why wasn't I good enough?" thoughts.

Oh definitely!! There's a girl at my church who has liked this one guy for MONTHS before I even met him.. he is just a strange kind of person and sometimes I feel like he flirts with that girl.. and it makes me so angry! It doesn't really change how I act.. there's not really much I can do about it, nor should I want to do anything about it. I don't want to fight to be desired.

I am a very jealous person, inwardly. I'm very, very good about keeping it to myself 99% of the time, but inwardly, it makes me wanna do this:

Honestly, the most annoying part is when I constantly have crushes and not one woman has ever really, truly reciprocated on the level that I feel for her. At most they crush on me until their "jock" (itch) comes along with his rippling muscles and athletic capabilities.

Then it's, "Rob who?"

(And yes, I'm a bitter old man.)
