CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have a blog but the mechanics of it are over my head. I can write with no problem, but learning how to make the blog function properly is another thing entirely. I went to the library this week to get some books on Wordpress but the library is undergoing renovations and the books are there but not accessible for a few more days. So anyway, I'd love to support others, but until the books are available, I'm pretty crippled to even know how to do that. So, in a week or two I hope to up and really running and will be able to figure some that stuff out.
And one day when I see stuff like this: "You are viewing a feed that contains frequently updated content. When you subscribe to a feed, it is added to the Common Feed List. Updated information from the feed is automatically downloaded to your computer and can be viewed in Internet Explorer and other programs." I'll know what it means, why they said it, and what to do because of it. Until then, all I can say is, "Oy vey!"

I'm seriously considering blogging, but it might be controversial. I am a Christian very firmly grounded in my faith and love for God. However, I don't agree with the many conservative Christians on social issues or which sins they tend to focus on when judging others, how the practice of judging is used in general, and who it is aimed at.
I worry about offending many people that I care about.

You can support by leaving a comment or liking a post. I dont know if ppl are reading my blog or not, although it does tell you how many views it gets and what part of the world people are logging on from.
As for being controversial, I wouldnt worry about it. Jesus offended many religious ppl in his day. You have just got to be honest and tell the truth, and sometimes the truth can be uncomfortable.

My wife started a small home-based business where she makes and sells homemade jams, jellies, salsas but with a twist - most of them contain a pepper spice of some kind in the recipe. The blog she writes is on the website www.jambusters.ca
