I don't fear death, I know it'll be the last thing I do. I just don't want to see it for another 30-40 years... maybe then I'll be ready for it. Too much unfinished business now.

I've been craving death for too long to be particularly afraid of it. But I would like to die well. If I can't be a hero or a martyr, I at least want a pretty good Darwin Award.

amen to that, me too, God took away my fear of death when I asked Him too in prayer, I am not scared anymore

I am not sure if I "fear" death, sometimes I welcome it, but that is my depressive, pathetic self. I used to fear death a lot more than I do now in the way that I was sure that I would go to hell. And now it seems that I don't care if I do or not. That isn't true either. I don't know why I don't fear death... I fear leaving my kids alone in this world... that is what I fear most about death.
All views are subject to change for me anyways... but I have certainly enjoyed reading what others thought about this topic.

People in general do not fear death in particular ,but what lies behind it and the uncertainty of everything it involves. For example death is something , well natural death ,is something that is both inevitable and uncontrollable by a mortal.

I don't believe in death. To me, it's just the next step in life. But, yes, I do have a fear of dying...could be painful. So, I picked number 2, not exactly not afraid of death.

It's not so much that I fear death, but I do feel sorrow when thinking about it, and I do that often lately, not sure why though. The Bible does not say we die on earth and go right to heaven, it says there will be a judgement day when the dead will be risen and God will have his final judgement, I already feel sad about what I will miss while I'm gone, my daughter, my friends and life in general. Death makes me question my faith every time I think about it (if you never question it, you can never really reaffirm it). I question if mankinds fear of death forced him to create an afterlife via religion, don't worry, I'm still on the believing side of things.

I do not fear death, because I believe that my death would be for a greater good.
But I don't want to die.
I don't mean this in a selfish way either. If I was to die and go to hell I would hope that someone somewhere would have their sins relieved. Perhaps even lots of people.

Yes. I am very fearful of death because even though I do believe that Christianity, which is a faith-based religion, is valid I do not know that it is. For all I know I could be wrong, and what happens if I am?

Death is really of the unknown, I don't believe god wanted us to exactly know what is going to happen but that is really irrelevent because the most I fear of my own death is the quake it would cause and at this point in time I have not lived out all of my life's path.
