• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I've been dead twice. My heart has stopped beating during 2 different operations on my leg. Being under anesthetic at the time I felt nothing, but I didn't even know I'd died until I found woke up from the operation. I felt nothing at the time and didn't see a white light in a tunnel or a out of body experience.
I have never really feared death. I've lived my life in a "when it happens it happens, so live a normal life." I don't want to loose the suprise element, lol

I used to fear death when I smoked pot, and would be in the car or my heart would beat really fast and hard. Sometimes I used to consider what Jesus went through and tried to imagine myself in the same situation but couldn't get very far.
When I am being rational I don't fear death (also don't smoke pot anymore lol), since we are in the substance abuse section, the closer I walk with Jesus the stronger I want to be with him.

I don't fear death as such. I fear for the way that I've been living especially over the past few years. Too many years of doing too many bad things is taking its toll on my health. It affect my family as well.

I'm trying to work on it.....perhaps I am not working hard enough.

As many say, if you're sorry, god shall forgive you. As I would say, if you are happy with you're life and all the changes and twists it has taken, you have lived a good life, if not, it's time to make some bloody changes.

I used to be afraid of death, but that was before I was saved. I do hope that it's not painful, but death is only a beginning for those that believe in the Lord God! It is the beginning of your life everlasting, the beginning of true happiness, the beginning of treasures you never dreamed of before! Who could be afraid of that??

Am I afraid of death?

No, I long to be with my Saviour and other than maybe the thought of a painful death, I am not afraid.

Am I afraid to die right now? YES. For one simple reason. My kids. My husband is not a Christian and I worry about their future without me... but I trust in God and I know my life is in his hands and that he loves my children and wants the best for them no matter what.

Considering the fact that I trust God so much. No, I dont fear death...
