  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yes! I'm down to less than 10 VHS tapes. I guess since Lucas isn't releasing the original unaltered Star Wars on DVD, I'll be stuck with those VHS tapes for life. I'll "double dip" on something if the upgrade it warranted; Panic Room 3 Disc, Alien Box set etc etc. Just today I bought The Good The Bad The Ugly again since the initial release was lacking and the transfer was extremely poor. Some of the dvds from the Stanley Kubrick box set need an upgrade, Eyes Wide Shut, and I'd upgrade those in a heartbeat.

Is the Spiderman Superbit/Extended 3 disc really coming out? I thought that was just a net rumor. But I wouldn't be suprised by a rerelease around the time 2 hits.
A Superbit of Spiderman would be nice, when I got my big screen a few months back I picked up The Fifth Element on SB just to see the level of improvement from the regular release, which is extremely poor, and I was amazed.

It's not too hard (with a DVD burner) to copy a VHS tape to a DVD for all those stuck with VHS with no hope of it ever coming out on DVD...even if you dont want to go again and buy it in DVD..I do believe its your legal right so long as you own the tape?

Edit: No I haven't double dipped with DVD's the only media I have double (triple:eek:) dipped is Skillet's CD Collide...at first I pre-ordered the original twice (for two gifts for pre-ordering..one was getting to listen to the whole thing online before it came out and the other was an autographed cd...) I used the online thing and kept the autographed on and gave the one with the autograph to a friend for christmas:clap:..and in 6 days when they re-release it with a new song and video footage for the secular market I shall buy it again...yeah I am a skillet freak and thats ok...one ended up being a gift and now i will have two on my hands :-D

Yeah it wouldn't be hard with the right video card for your computer, but VHS is also in 2.0 sound. You also have to remember that each time you watch a VHS tape the quality of it degrades with each viewing, and VHS never boasted the picture quality either. I'll just keep my laserdiscs of Star Wars.

Good news! I wonder if the commentary track will be the same from the original release. Man I really don't want to have 3 versions of this movie but the idea of SB for this is so tempting.;)
The commentary track is the same for the Deluxe Edition but will be different for the SUPERBIT (SB). The SB will have a commentary by Toby McGuire, and I think some other guy, but I'm not sure; it is the same commentary that appeared on the internet some time ago.

I have Saving Private Ryan on Laserdisc (the last one I purchased, btw). A D-Day commemorative edition comes out this month on DVD, and I am getting it.

I am thinking about ditching my LD player, but there are still 3-4 movies I own on Laser that cannot be found on DVD. So for now it stays and when I actually use it my daughter (5) goes "WOW!!! LOOK AT THAT BIG CD!!!!"
