  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I posted a similar thread awhile ago, and I decided to repost it because I know that new people join the forum and I think that it is worth watching.

I think that it is a good little video, and I hope that those of you who do decide to watch it will enjoy it and that it will present some new ideas to you to consider and perhaps hep you reevaluate yourself. I will say that it is for Christians, so if you don't like it simply don't watch it. I would like to hear some feedback, see some comments, tell me what you think. Thanks.

This guy is very motivational.

But he has his own flaws. What is his view towards christians who also have feelings that are everything? I love God, and I desire him. I love Jesus, and I desire him. I love Mary, and I desire him. But I also love my parents and I desire them. God means everything to me and Jesus and Mary; but my family means everything to me too. I don't know if this is natural or not, but I love my parents with my life. As I do with Jesus Christ, God our master, and Mary our mother in heaven.

In result: This guy is motivational, but to the naked eye, I think he may be trying to force us into desiring God. To desire God, it must come naturally. One day, you read the gospel, and BAM! You desire God.

Dude, Paul Washer?

Nice.

I haven't really been so "Christian" for the past four months, but man, when I was hungry for God, Paul Washer was my go to guy. Didn't listen to anybody else except a few sermons by Piper or Ravenhill. But nobody stirs up like Washer does. And he's not afraid to speak harshly either.

But honestly, I actually don't like videos like this. I understand that the music and the cuts are added to make the video more impacting, but I guess I just prefer a "purer" message where you're stirred up not by emotional music but by the truth of the words penetrating your spirit and burning in your heart.

And at Ilovegodandjesus, I think his aim is to make us think about how God has impacted us and to gauge our spiritual health by this. He doesn't want to force us to desire God, he wants to confront our complacency and encourage pursuit of something more worthwhile than whatever we are pursuing.
