Just curious as to wether or not anyone here builds models.
I usually build models that are related to WWII or mech anime.
If you do build models what is the last one you completed or what are you currently working on.

I'm currently working on a diarama of the atlantic wall featuring a Panther tank and its crew taking a short break.

It would be interesting to build a model of the delorean time machine.

God Bless,
Justin.

Oh, I love building airplane models. I enjoy all time periods and types, from the Wright Flyer to the F/A-35 Lignthing II.

BTW, for those who enjoy aircraft, if you're ever in need of some detailed shots for reference, let me know, I'm a professional aviation photographer and have shot nearly every military aircraft in the US inventory plus the usual WWII aircraft, (Spitfire, Mustangs (B and D), BF-109, B-17, B-24, B-25, and Texan/SNJ/Harvard)

To be honest, it's getting to cost too much; and much of what I'd like to see is either not made to begin with, not in consistent scale or insanely expensive. ($90+ for an Avro York? Maybe if I can board it and fly it.) My most recent focus was on aircraft of the World War Two Air Transport Command and included a C 32A, C 46, C 47, C 54, C 60, C 87 (converted from Hasegawa's B 24D), and an A 29. Also DC 2s in American and TWA liveries, DC 3B (TWA), DST (American), Boeing 247 (early United), a trimotor or two, Junkers F 13, old Aurora M 2 mailplane, and two DH 4 mailplanes converted from the old Aurora and AMT kits. There's a C 39 kit on the market I may grab if I ever have $60 that my creditors don't have prior claim on.
Also a wall of US WW2 AAF fighters (including the old Revell P 39, which I first built in 1956) that may soon be joined by an Eagle Squadron Spit.

If you ever get bored with display models, you should look into building scale electric airplanes. With foam that costs less than $0.02 per square foot its hard to beat for cost. Also there are many great places where you can get super-cheap radio/motor equipment to power it. I saw a post where one dude built a scale C-17 with two electric ducted fan motors. Looked absolutly real in flight with its nearly 5-foot wingspan.

That is a gorgeous B-25 Mitchell, Trento. I love the finish on it.

I'd love to get into R/C, but finances are too tight for that. With photography and scale plastic models (I build modern jets and the occasional WWII a/c).

Bob, it seems plastic kits are becoming prohibitively expensive. And I tend to lean towards Aggressors and Korean War - current jets. I saw a Hasegawa F-16 selling for well over $60.00 CDN. My jaw nearly hit the floor. And I also tend to lean towards Warsaw Pact aircraft and my one kit I'd like to find is an Su-24 Fencer in 1/48. I'll probably see that sometime when the moon turns blue.

I am 66 years old and retired with nothing much to do so i set back in my shop and build scale model race cars but not kit cars ~~~ I scratch build super late model dirt track race cars, their haulers and haul vehicles
I usually use old kit cars and throw away the bodies using only the chassis, motor and running gear then build the sheet metal body to fit the existing running gear I use the thin metal plates that is used to print newspspers and using a scapel cut the sides and top to the desired shape and weild the body to the chassis my last racer was a replica of the Laurens track late model championship winner william Morgan and his #15 Chevy .of course no one can tell chevy from Ford by looking at the cars
