Well, you are a traditionalist, so your ideas on what the gifts are are probably incorrect

Ad hominem fallacy. Saying that what someone says is probably incorrect because they are a traditionalist is a logical fallacy; it would be equally fallacious to say that what someone says is probably incorrect because they are not a traditionalist.

It represents a prejudgement of their position without taking the time to analyze their argument in depth, and falls into the same category of logical fallacy as appeals to unqualified authority.

If we love our neighbor as ourselves, we will not dismiss his ideas without giving them a fair hearing on their own merits, rather than on the basis of attributes of our neighbor that are different from our own.

We had a saying in the Navy,...... oh well.

Sometimes the truth is just evident.

And literally nothing is evident in the absence of evidence that one can examine (for example, the arguments that would be presented by a traditional Christian that you propose to dismiss a priori on the basis that since they are being made by a traditional Christian they are probably wrong).

Indeed, for this and other reasons relating to the substitution of supposed self-evidence for actual evidence, an “Appeal to self-evident truth” is itself a well-established logical fallacy, with much content available online explaining it, for example, the following website:

Indeed, I should say it’s more problematic a fallacy than even relying upon a nominal axiom of language (for example, saying the sky is blue because it is, which is a tautology, but this goes beyond tautology and presupposes that by some means a fact can be obvious in the absence of any evidence, even evidence which is self-referential and therefore tautological).

I'm Eastern Orthodox. You have no idea of how extensive our experience of God's gifts is. We also have long and extensive experience with spiritual delusion since the evil one has been consistently attacking the Orthodox Church both from within and without.for centuries.

Nowadays when I am sick, I usually start by praying according to what Paul teaches us in Philippians 4:6-7 and 1 Thess 5:16-18

And while I go thru it, I will then move on to those 2 passages that Paul continue to teach us about the attitude to take while going thru it, Romans 8:18-25 and 2 Corinthians 4:16-18.
Also consider Romans 5:3-5
More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us.

It absolutely was, thank you!

All the aspects of Acts 2 were apparent there. Do some reading on it from different sources, it might help you understand things better as to why our denomination is flourishing across the world so much.
None were present; there were not tongues of fire, no wind as the Spirit entered the gathering, no languages spoken that others who knew them could understand, no gospel proclaimed to the citizens of foreign lands, and no supernatural works that the non-christian crowds could see and understand.

Obviously you are just going to be negative towards anything of The Holy Spirit.

Others can read about it here and see for themselves,....

The holy scriptures record many miracles, do you believe them? Do you believe in any other miracles, any that are not recorded in holy scripture?
And Jesus did many miracles when lived and walked on earth !!

And He is not here now ?

What KIND of miracles do you mean ONLY for today ??
