DO WE WANT MASHIACH NOW?
Ask someone coming out of Synagogue on a Shabbat, Do you believe in G-d? and the worshipper is shocked. What type of question is that? Of course I do! Then ask him, Do you consider yourself religious? and youll hear Certainly. That's why I'm here! This is normal. These conversations make sense. We now look forward to Mashiach. Mashiach now? But now I'm not ready. I don't want to be judged the way I am. I need more notice. When Mashiach comes, what's he going to find? How do we know who he will be? Am I ready to meet him? Do I really need to know about him? Does Judaism need Mashiach? Why? Included in the THIRTEEN PRINCIPLES OF FAITH, is the following, "I believe with complete faith in the coming of the Mashiach and even though he may tarry, nevertheless, I yearn every day for his coming." To believe in the Mashiach is to believe in G-D, the Torah and all the commandments. It is one of the footstools of Judaism and one of the main roots of all faith. Mashiach is the crown of what G-d desired of His people, a relationship with roots. If Mashiach comes today, would he find that our longing of his coming is growing cold. Are we suffering from a loss of connection to our ancestors. Is our faith, our belief very cold. But we can ask: whose fault is that? And who gets the credit for the fact that there is poor faith (in most people out there) in his coming altogether?
You personally are bringing Mashiach closer and closer every day with your physical performances of the Mitzvot (commandments). Doing good deeds (all that he ask of us to do via the holy scriptures), praying and learning torah, teaching others concerning his coming, reading of who he is from the Hebrew Scriptures, etc... Are you willing to say, I'm ready, Do I want Mashiach Now, and risk it all for the sake of his coming? Do you really want to know him?
