Do we need to be baptized in order to be saved ?

Peter said Jesus would return when the nation of Israel repent, which was suppose to take place at the end of the last days, which he said in Acts 2 was already happening.

Was Peter joking?
"At the end of the last days". How long is the "last days"? One year? Five years? 500 years? 10,000 years? There is no chronology given, and no way to know how long the "last days" will last, but we know that we are in them now and have been since the middle to end of the first century (almost 2000 years now). The end of the "last days" will come when the Father sends Jesus back to us, and not before, and there will be absolutely no warning, and absolutely no one will miss it.

My point is, your statement "The prophecy of Dan 9 does not state that Jesus will return during, or at the end of, the 70th week." is not supported by Peter.

Otherwise, he would not have said Acts 3:19-21

Why? The statement in Acts 3 has nothing whatsoever to do with the 70th week. It prophecies Jesus return, but as I said, that has nothing to do with the 70th week either. The 70th week has already come and gone, and the second coming will come sometime after the 70th week (at least 2000 years after at current count).
