CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The observable universe consists of flows of matter and energy that we can see and measure. What some call "spirit" is, I think, the dynamic ever-changing patterns of the mass-energy flow. Those patterns do not exist as separate from the flows and cannot, any more than a ripple can exist without the stream or the wave can exist without the water.
Each of us is a ripple or a vortex or a pattern of space-time/matter-energy, not separate from the whole.
If you want to call that "spirit", then we can agree on that and discuss the subject. It you think "spirit" is something else, you would have to define it or demonstrate it before we could even start a discussion.
Think of it this way. Draw a circle and put everything real into it. Reality is one thing. We see "things" when there is only one thing.
What is the sound of one hand clapping?

No. I use to, but then the evidence never changed and because easier to explain as I learned about photographs. If there was spirits the evidence would build up, not go away.

I've seen them personally. I know others who have seen them personally. The Bible tells that there are many, many legions of angels, and that a third of them were cast out of heaven. They formed the Democratic National Committee.
If you're looking for physical proof of the supernatural, then I'm afraid you're going to have a loooooooong search.

True story. Years ago when I was working in a hospital I saw a young man who his family said was possessed by an evil spirit. According to them, within just a couple of weeks he changed from being a pleasant, even-tempered, non-drug using guy into a raving madman. And he really was wild and out of control-- incoherent, combative, flailing his arms and legs, spitting, shouting incomprehensible jibberish, and barking like a dog or hissing like a snake. Yet several hours after a single injection of Hadol, it all went away. He became calm, rational, communicative, and oriented to person and place. So why would an evil spirit--with the supernatural power to enter someone's body and radically alter their personality and behavior--be counteracted by an anti-psychotic drug?
