Hello. I'm new to these forums, so forgive me please if I post something that's already been posted or something not socially acceptable in this community.
My name is EmilyFaith. (yes, that's my birth name, it's not "Emily" haha) I am 15 years old and was saved at the ripe age of 3, 12 years ago.
Something that has been on my heart for my entire life, really, is truly making an impact on the world no matter your age. As 1 Timothy 4:12 says, "Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young but set an example for the believers in faith, in life, in love, and in purity." Although I do NOT believe that works can get you to heaven or are required, I do believe every Christian is called to some sort of ministry and is called to further the Kingdom of God. I don't believe anyone is "too young" to make a difference or to witness to unbelievers.
Something I want you to realize is that you have an influence on the world around you. You may not know it, but you do. You have the POWER to make that influence go towards something with ETERNAL PURPOSE.
My ministry is orphan care. It began when I lived in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo and volunteered in an orphanage. I lived there for a year while my dad flew as a missionary pilot for Mission Aviation Fellowship. Arriving back in the States at the beginning of 2012, I met up with someone I used to go to school with and began raising money to build homes for orphans in a village in Uganda. My first project I assisted with, a 5k run, (planned solely by a group of teenagers) raised $150,000 and built 6 homes! I moved towns after that and planned a second 5k race in Hernando, Mississippi (about half an hour from Memphis, TN). It will be on April 20th and we've raised $12k so far!
At this orphanage, the kids are taught the gospel and discipled daily. They are also taught how to disciple others. That's the reason I work hard to raise money. That's the eternal purpose, not the structure of a home, but the discipling of the fatherless. (Orphan Scripture: Psalms 82:3-4, Matthew 25:40, James 1:27 & more)
I'm wanting to know this: What are you making a difference for today? How are you impacting the world (even if it's just one person's world)? What ETERNAL difference is your life making?
