Everything we are told to do in the Bible must be understood by revelation and done by revelation. We must not merely use the Bible as a "book of promises" to be put into use whenever we want to apply a biblical outcome to our lives. If we read that Elijah did a miracle we cannot just "claim it" for ourselves, and duplicate the miracle. We can't just go out and "walk on water" because Jesus said we would do "greater things."

The knowledge of Man in the beginning was corrupted because it carried this idea that we can do what God can do. It is actually rebellion against the Lord, to try to duplicate His works in our own corrupt carnal way.

Following the Bible is not an intellectual exercise to compete with God and with Prophets to get our desired outcome, no matter how "noble" our wishes appear to us. The most so-called "noble" charitable deed in the world is meaningless to God if it does not take place through the virtue of Christ, or by revelation of the Holy Spirit.

We must know Christ in everything we do, or be found to be competing with Christ. That is purely the Knowledge of Man, which was condemned by God from the very beginning.

Those who say we can "operate all of the Gifts of the Spirit" are unfortunately of this mind-set. Those who claim we "lack faith" if we don't get what we want are of this mind-set. We will get all that God wants to give us if we remain in submission to Him and to His revelations. We must *know Christ.* Then God will hear everything we ask of Him, and will give us the necessary response.
