Hello Crusadar,

Yes, I do believe miracles do happen today. I believe I am a miracle of God. Doctors told my parents when I was born that they believed I would never make it to the next morning. And by God's grace and love, I am alive 20 years later! I also experienced a miracle in November. After church I went up to have prayer for my back and legs, I was in a lot of pain the last few weeks before that experience. I was anointed with oil and once the elder said "amen," the pain in my back and legs disappeared! I know it is God that healed me.

If you want a Biblical example, the first disciples healed just like Jesus did. Just look at the book of Acts and there are many examples of healing miracles. Also the existance of the Bible today is a miracle, through all the persecution of Christianity, the Bible is still in our hands today. I think that is a great miracle!

Just wondering if there are other Christians out there who believe that miracles do happen or have witnessed a miracle and would like to share with other Christians.

I've seen 2 miracles, also. One was back in 1990, when my Dad had pneumonia in both lungs. The doctor told us he would die, I didn't think it was time. My brother and I went to his hospiyal bed and prayed over him. Next day, or soon after, the doctor told us that he was completely bumfuzzled, but that the pneumonia had gone form both lungs. He said it wasn't the meds that did it.

Then, I was driving one time and a voice in my head (or spirit) kept telling me to stop at the upcoming intersection, but I had the green light, so I didn't know why I was being told that. But I obeyed and stopped at the green light. A car came speeding through and busted its red light. I would have been killed or seriously injured had the voice not told me to stop.

We own a field in North Wales where visions of the Virgin Mary were reported in 1997 and subsequent miracles of healing for the mind, body and spirit have been claimed. I am somewhat sceptical about all this, we are not Catholics. However, two or three years ago I had a very painful frozen shoulder, which defied medical help. Someone suggested that I visited our field, which is yards from our house. Within minutes my shoulder was much easier and completely better by the next day. I have never had any trouble since! Now my take on this is that either my shoulder would have got better that quickly anyway, or the field acted like a catalyst and my body's natuaral healing mechanisms kicked in!

The field is in a very peaceful spot and we are happy for folk to visit and meditate at the gate, if they feel it will benefit them. We have had many visitors, some from the US, and it seemed like a mini Lourdes back in 1997. Folk have even claimed that a photo of the field, sent over the Internet has helped them, I find that a little hard to believe!

Video of a man who had one foot shorter than the other and it grew back even with the other foot...all on camera !

I wish that would happen to me someday! My right leg is shorter by 4 inches to my left leg. Then I won't have to buy $200 shoes ($125 for a shoe lift)!

Don't lean to your own understanding, but trust God.

Because of your bottom statement on the post rest assured that, that will be the only blessing you will receive, as God will never force His blessings on anyone. And know this that the big black void in the center of your soul will accompany you until you open your mind, eyes and ears for exposure to The Truth.

It all depends on what the truth is, my truth is not the same as yours. I don't believe anyone has the whole truth or if there is any one truth!

The term miracle needs to be defined-

Spiritual miracles happen every moment of every day.

Physical miracles do not happen with that type frequency. Why? Faith. Humans are such fickle creatures. We see something supernatural and we are quick to join the bandwagon. That makes faith nothing more than witnessing a parlor trick.

I once read this and it has stuck with me for years.

God made apple trees and gravity. Apples fall to the ground every autumn. If God wanted he could reach out and cause an apple to float, therby denying gravity.

But be forewarned - Most of the time he does not do so.

God created natural law for a reason. It is good (Genesis). He must have an overriding cause when and if he chooses to break natural law. I think that would rarely happen.

I am a liberal Christian and I am still working my way towards satisfactory answers about my spirituality. I went through some sort of conversion experience when I was 11, but that was because I was coerced into it being scared of hell-fire, LOL!! I don't believe in hell-fire anymore. My idea of hell is a separation from everyone I love, which is much worse. I will continue to seek until I find the answers.

If you believe that God does intervene in the world today, then it seems quite problematic to suggest that all miracles are somehow unreal or in the "psyche" only. You may have doubts about the epistemological question of "knowing" that some particlar happening is a miracle, but you shouldn't take from this that miracles are somehow unreal or in the "psyche" only.

If God presently acts on the world, rather than God's effect in the world being only the sum of our reflection upon God and our taking action in response to our reflection, then I suggest you have good reason to believe that miracles occur.

That said, I believe that traditional definitions of "miracle" that revolve around "a violation of natural law" are unsatisfactory. That is however, a philosophical and not a theological issue that I am not inclined to pursue further here.

Yes, I believe in miracles. Why, you ask? Because my life in itself is one. You see, I was born one month and 4 days early, and I was extremely small. I was light, sick, and the doctors did not expect me to live much longer. Well, guess what? I'm still alive and well, and praising God every day for allowing me to live.

So, you see? Miracles happen. :)
