Do Christians believe that Christianity is the only true religion?

Assuming Christian claims are true it is even worse than a shell game, because there are hints in the NT that only "the elect" have any hope of salvation. Jesus sows seed in his earthly ministry knowing that some soil is good and some soil is bad. If a person is bad and does not "have ears to hear" the message of the Jesus then he/she has no chance. I guess that gets into the question of defining freewill.

Quite right! The shells just keep multiplying.

I'd like to pose a question for all users. Does Christianity claim to be the one true religion?

This question is for Christians and non-Christians alike. It doesn't matter whether you believe that Christianity is true or not. If you could choose an option and vote in the poll, I'd be grateful.

If your answer is that yes, Christianity is the one, true religion, could you tell us why you think that? What do you mean by saying it is the "true" or "correct" religion? And if you vote for one of the no options, please could you let us know why? I'd be very interested in hearing your thoughts.

And another follow-up question: which is more important? Whether a religion is true or not, or whether it promotes goodness?

Christianity is the only religion that believes that Jesus is the Messiah, Son of God, who died, and then rose again.

Either Jesus rose from the dead, or He didn't.

Now, just to be clear, I don't believe other religions are absent of truth. I think there is much truth in many of the various religious traditions around the world, and there are many quite beautiful things in them, things I respect and admire.

I don't hate other religions.
I also don't engage in antagonistic polemics against people of other religions.
I also don't try and argue people of other religions to adopt my religion.

Also, I don't believe that because my religion is true, it means that anyone who isn't part of my religion is going to be damned. That isn't a belief I subscribe to.

the reason we state one true religion because we cannot presuppose anything equally asertive to the religion judaism was the true religion until furfillment in the new testament(covenant) every other religion based on our faith is completely abrogated and not true because scripture speaks and also because faith in Christ Jesus as our Lord compelling evidence for other religions is as low as a story being told to children
