Do any of you smoke?

I quit after smoking 18 years, two packs a day. I found out I was going to be a father. That was 15 years ago. Hardest thing I ever conquered. ++CK++

I don't know if smoking would be classified as a sin or not, to be honest. I do think it's harmful, I do hate to be around smoke. I don't do it. Having said that, Jesus seemed more concerned about what came out of a person (their actions, intents, motives) than what they put into their bodies - which might show that if smoking IS wrong to God, He has things higher on the list to worry about.

I guess a topic like this will stir debate. I have personally seen what damage smoking can do .... it's scary...I would urge anybody to try to give up - for God and for themselves.

The same can be said for McDonalds Hamburgers, Chicken McNuggets & Fries.

For me the point it is understood that we should not do things that harm our body-no arguement about that-for me the problem is all these Christians who make out like one thing is soooooo much worse than anything else. How many of you go to work on Sunday just to keep a paycheck?

You can say it's not good for you and the Bible says we could mind our temple without a condeming spirit, and accusations of no faith or lack of belief, for all you who talk about having quit, did you believe in God/Jesus before you quit? I bet alot of you did.
No person here is living a sin free life, so what makes this particular sin worse than any you do.

Not everyone here put the OP down-to the few of you KUDO's and please ignore this message, but for the rest of you with the better than you attitudes or the "I would never do that" or the If you were "really saved " you would not attitude-You all just need to let up and come about the message with love. Take a good look in the mirror and clean yourselves BF looking out the window and talking about anothers trash in their yard.

CAN-keyword, but Paul also had a thorn in his side that he said he prayed 3 times to have removed then he said Jesus stold him "My grace is sufficient" for you.

We are not specificly told what Paul's thorn was..could it have been,,nah, I'll bet it was... What does it matter? The theology that IF you love Jesus you will become perfect is bogus, if you could do that Jesus would be unnessary. We are saved by Grace and we should not judge anothers faith based on a cigarette..or any other thorn.

I apologize if my post was wrong; I believe I was recently healed of schizophrenia when a pastor prayed for me to have a sound mind. When I was sick I did smoke; there is research that smoking seems to help schizophrenics, and my doctor told me about it. He is a highly respected man in his field. But that day that the pastor prayed for me was the last day that I smoked. So I'm a non smoker now, and I'm glad for that. I'm not advocating smoking and I'm sorry if it appeared that way. I don't know if it's a sin.

Some of the advice that modern day doctors allegedly give now a days seems to be a prime example of God turning the wisdom of this world into foolishness !

I saw dreams of smoking..

Yea, more like nightmares, to one whose had to fight long and hard to be free of that particular addiction.

Used to happen to me too...even quite a few years after having stopped...so I prayed, "Lord, why am I having these bad dreams ?"

Think it was the next day, sitting by the campfire, which was at the time a little bit smoky...and it struck me - smoke from campfires was sometimes being interpreted in my dreams as me having an episode of relapse into cigarettes.

After that, I made more of an effort not to breathe campfire smoke, and haven't had those nightmares since.

It was rude and hurtful. You made a point of letting me know exactly what you think of people who like cats. But I said nothing to you about it.

I was just stating an old joke I heard, "will I go to hell if I smoke?" answer: no you will just smell like it......ha ha ha maybe not so funny as you noticed,

having been a hard core drug addict, drunk and everything else, I found quiting smoking to be the hardest of them all, until someone gave me the simplest 3 step technic: 1. you can smoke as much as you want.....2. you must smoke alone no exceptions to this rule.......3. pray while you smoke......

guaranteed within two weeks you're addiction to nicotine will have vanished, no withdrawls whats so ever......anyway Its really easy when you do it this way, I kinda almost think the devil wants you to quit when he finds out you made it your prayer time, especially if your a heavy smoker....lol....prayer warrior

I looked for it, but either that guy post hundreds of post a day, or you got a really good memory for holding a grudge.......must say alot of his post were pretty funny
