Would you say the same if Trump fired Mueller?
Mattis isn't investigating Obama or Trump, obstruction of justice is a crime.
Did you say the same when he fired Comey?
Had Trump not mentioned recordings or that 'Russiar' thing I wouldn't have cared. I thought, in fact, I'm convinced Trump fired Comey for casting aspiration on his election win, Trump made me think otherwise.
Or is that somehow magically different, all of a sudden? ^_^
What's so funny, I've never seen a President look more guilty.

Only Democrat presidents get to fire people, apparently. If republicans do it, it's a coup and "like literally Hiter" ^_^
I would say national socialist, again, what is so funny? We have an aristocrat in the office, I don't take that lightly.

You see what your bias makes you want to see

I would say national socialist,

So Trump is a nazi now..... ^_^

again, what is so funny?

You and your attitude are. The double-think involved here is like Anakin Skywalker's midichlorian-levels: Off the charts.
When democrats fire people, that's fine. When republicans do it, that's aristocratic. If you weren't serious, it would truly be hilarious. Now it's just frightening.

We have an aristocrat in the office, I don't take that lightly.

See, there has been no aristocrat in charge of the area known as the US since....what, 1776 de facto, 1783 de jure.

So Trump is a nazi now.....

Technically, a white nationalist. Not quite the same thing. He merely says that some Nazis are good people.

When democrats fire people...

... it involves policy.

When Trump does, it...

...it's because they won't pledge personal loyalty to Trump.

The deep state prevents that sort of thing from working in the federal government. It's called the "separation of powers."

Do an experiment -- google on this: Obama fired Mattis (No quotes)

"
Obama Fires Top General Without Even a Phone Call "
Obama Fires Top General Without Even a Phone Call

Now we want to find that with "Obama fired Mattis" google search and no quote marks.

At first all I got was a lot of articles about "Trump fired Mattis" -- but doing it four or five times - I finally get some "Obama fired Mattis" hits at the top.

The two different incidents have different meanings and express different intents. Obama considered Matthis too warlike. Trump considered him too pro NATO and too keen to prolong American involvement in wars he felt they could not win.

Obamas focus on soft power had major downsides, not least the rise of ISIS and the prolonging of the Syrian Civil War.

Trumps problem expressed in the retirement of Matthis is that he has an isolationist America First agenda and he considered Matthis to be obstructing that.

...uhmmm...I think I speak for all of us when I say "What does that even mean?"
tulc(no, really) :sorry:

Rhetoric: n. communicating opinions with minimal factual information. Political rhetoric is the most common and it is politicians using general emotionally appealing words trying to appeal to human emotions and not basing their speeches on much factual information.

Isn't political rhetoric the popular rhetoric right now?

A small part of society seems to be fixated on portraying politics/government in a certain light and are trying to convince the rest of us that what they're saying is true when it isn't.

Using other sources of information is called expanding your horizons instead of only using one and indoctrinating yourself.

Indeed they had their own reasons.

Obamas focus on soft power had major downsides, not least the rise of ISIS and the prolonging of the Syrian Civil War.

Agreed - his policy was bad for the world.

hmmm...where did you get the above definition of rhetoric?
  1. (in writing or speech) the undue use of exaggeration or display; bombast.
  2. the art or science of all specialized literary uses of language in prose or verse, including the figures of speech.
  3. the study of the effective use of language.
  4. the ability to use language effectively.
  5. the art of prose in general as opposed to verse.
  6. the art of making persuasive speeches; oratory.
  7. (in classical oratory) the art of influencing the thought and conduct of an audience.
  8. (in older use) a work on rhetoric.

Rhetoric is not just empty words or fine political speeches. Rhetoric is the study and art of writing and speaking well, being persuasive, and knowing how to compose successful writing and presentations. Rhetoric teaches us the essential skills of advanced learning and higher education. In Rhetoric classes, students learn to think logically, to discover wrong or weak arguments, to build a good case on a controversial topic, and to overcome the all-too-common fear of speaking in public so that they can deliver crisp and well-prepared speeches.

Rhetoric is a fundamental building block of good education, whether it is followed by studies of Engineering, English or Entomology. Clear thinking, good argument, and logical discussion are essential to academic student success in any discipline and field. The better the essays you write, the better your grade. The stronger the presentations you make, the greater your academic success. The more you understand how to criticize and analyze what you read and study in Music, Mathematics or the Modern Languages, the stronger your education.

BobRyan: I put Obama fired Mattis in Google search with no quotes, & straight away every single listing on the 1st page was about Obama firing Mattis.

Maybe you aren't using Google, or maybe some hackers friendly to Obama hacked in to your computer & changed your search settings (I suspect you are the type who likes a good conspiracy theory)!
