  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

And why exactly do you think that such an exclusionistic, hateful God should be worshipped and adored?

taking a good look at the world I myself could not stand most of humanity due to their excessive depravity, murder, corruption, and sin..Im surprised God has been so patient with us which truly shows his long patient mercy for us. But when God punishes a nation I can see why it happens. For what society has committed they deserve all the retribution that is given to them(and probably much more if mercy wasn't a factor and only justice).

I did explain. You don't know if they believed God's promises or not. Don't blame God because someone died.

So if a Christian stays with an unbelieving spouse and the spouse kills them, they weren't a Christian?

I don't get that logic.

You know, if everything is really bad, there's a "Log Out" button on the bar near the top and there's a vast world you can go explore.

Or the few people that are as I have described can just leave or be aided in that direction. It appears that might have just been the case anyways. :)

So basically, you think that God is just as much of a misanthrope as you are?

A certain quote comes to mind:

"You can tell you've created God in your own image when it turns out that God hates all the same people you do."

That was kind of rude. Why should she have to leave this forum just because she doesn't like some of the ruder members on here?

She didn't seem to be complaining of ruder members, but all members. If you are that unhappy, leave.

Why can't people just complain for the sake of complaining, though? Complaining once about something doesn't mean that a person is completely unhappy with that thing, it just means that they want to vent a bit. So I still don't see why she should have to leave, especially seeing as she even said that she has met some kind people on here.

You are correct. I was more rude than I wanted to be.

I apologize to anybody offended.

That is not true at all. I shared my displeasure of the rude members and that it might be an idea to pm the ones that are not.

I also shared about the "few" members that are manipulative etc.

At no time did I say all members. I do not have to be happy with all members and do have a right to state how I feel about the members that are nasty with people, as much as they have the ability to be nasty.

I apologize for jumping to that conclusion and being rude.

I've heard that God doesn't like divorce, but he doesn't say you can't. In America especially our problem is we don't know what we want in a person, hence so many divorce rates. We think we need to marry by 21, pop out kids months later and thats it. Thats not love.

Some would disagree with you on both points. I have heard a lot of people say a lot of different things about what God says. But it is all hearsay, and inadmissable in court.

Lot's of people know what they want. Some actually think they are going to get it when they marry.

These days, some marry because it helps settle the division of property and custody when they do divorce.
Thats not love.
Most things aren't love. So?

In response to the "leave but don't divorce" crowd: I don't know why anyone would think an all powerful God would be concerned with human invented paperwork, which is all a legal marriage is. If you aren't together, bonded in some kind of a holy union, then you aren't really married and you aren't going to score heaven points by clinging to a piece of paper saying you are. It's like having all kinds of sex before marriage but remaining a "technical virgin". LOL. No God is going to give you those kinds of rules with ridiculous loopholes. Don't stop using your brains people.
