I'm a school teacher so my voice is my life. Last week Sunday I started losing my voice. By Wed, it was cutting in and out on me... and by Thursday I could barely speak. Friday I had no voice to speak of. I couldn't speak above a squeak or a whisper. Saturday and Sunday I was down to writing notes for just about everything. Monday I had no voice at all. I'd been doing home care treatments as recommended by my medical center... but nothing seemed to be working.
I work at a Christian school and had been getting prayer. Tonight was Back-to-School night. I was supposed to give a presentation to the parents of my students. This would be the first opportunity for all of them to really meet me. I am new to the school so I am an unknown entity. I had absolutely NO VOICE yesterday and I wasn't looking forward tonight...
but when I woke up this morning and went to the beach to pray -- I found out once I got there that my voice had returned and it was perfectly normal. No pain, burning, difficulty swallowing or breathing. NOTHING. I wasn't even hoarse.
I KNOW God answered my prayer to be able to communicate with all of these new parents. PRAISE GOD!!!!! I will never take my ability to talk for granted. Having to write notes at work and at home was a challenge. I couldn't easily take part in even the most basic conversations. I am thankful I can speak.
