  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

We bought it and enjoyed it more at home. I wonder why they have a choice of starting the dvd as alien or human. I mean there is a choice when you begin the film. Maybe it's just for fun, didn;t change the film ending or anything. We tried.
The one thing you need to know is it is from a documentary view, then 45 mins past that goes into movie mode. I loved the alien-Christopher and the little one. The main actor bugged us. They could have cast this much better but still worth the watch and 7 of us agreed and watched together.

I guess I'm one of the 5 people alive who hated this movie. I thought the plot was unique but the overall execution of it was just stupid. I love sci-fi movies but this was just not a great movie. The end made me want to gag.

Hmm, interesting.. :)

I loved that movie.. 10/10 for me

The language was a little bit harsh, but it didn't really bother me.

I would say District 9 was a great movie if it weren't so nauseating. I don't have the stomach for this kind of camera style. Had I known, I would have waited for it on Blu-Ray instead so I could stand as far away as possible from the screen. Other than that, it has an excellent plot and awesome pacing.

... I wonder if/when District 10 is coming out?
Remember how the main alien guy said "... 3 years, I promise"

I think that was a hint ;)

I thought District 9 was just okay. You liked it more than I did.

I loved District 9, definitely on my top movies list. I really like how many times I thought the movie had reached its denouement only for something crazy to happen. The social commentary was interesting, but the originality of the plot was great. I would love District 10, but I don't see how it could be anything other than a straight-forward sci-fi action movie...

I really liked this movie.
My wife's opinion was "Meh....too many unanswered questions"
Which may be true, but I LOVED the almost complete moral ambiguity of nearly every major character in this movie.
Didn't love it, but really liked it.

Heck, I actually got through this movie, as opposed to Inglorious Basterds :D

Shut the front door! Inglorious Basterds was 100000000000 times better than District 9:preach:
:D
Different tastes apparently (and I know that the majority of people who saw IG- including my own daughter- may think I'm a heretic :D )

Couldn't crawl my way through IG though :(
But not really an ongoing subject for this thread, yes? ;)

I know, I know...I'm just in a mood tonight :p
It's okay
My 18 year old daughter and I, despite the fact that she was raised by her mother, had agreed 100% on movies... The Crow, Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, and even Moulin Rouge (a widely panned movie).
So, you can understand how shocked I was when I couldn't get through IG, despite the fact that she "loved it" and thought that it was "awesome, fantastic, you REALLY have to see it"

Please, continue.
About Inglorious Basterds? Nah ;) Wrong thread.
