  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

In Hebrews 12:22-24
But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, [23] and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, [24] and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

Who are those designated as "assembly of the firstborn" ?

Who are those designated as "spirits of the righteous made perfect"?

And why are they distinguished as being seperate groups?

Excluding the angels; it is nothing more than a paragraph listing the faithful redeemed people of God through Jesus Christ.

**Christ's Redeemed of all ages**

aka

  • [*]Mount Zion
[*]the city of the living God
    [*]the heavenly Jerusalem
    [*]the
    assembly of the firstborn
    [*]{those}who are enrolled in heaven
    [*]the
spirits of the righteous made perfect

**Christ's Redeemed of all ages**

All who partake of redemption via Christ through..., [24] the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

It seems more likely that two different groups are being spoken of here.
