ok...so i recently figured out how to get a picture on my background at my xanga website....but now it's only there sometimes. It's really quiet frustrating...do any of you have any idea why it could be that the picture is sometimes there and sometimes not there? the address for the site is www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=dissapearing_existance

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
dissapearing picture

I'm not sure, but if I go directly to the image( http://lightning.prohosting.com/~starrfox/images/tears.gif ) and then return to your site the image shows up. If I refresh your page after that the image goes away. It would seem the browser isn't downloading the image for some reason...it may be a problem with the image host?

i changed the picture back....the origional picture is the one that morrog linked to.....right now i dont'...but are you saying that if i went to like photobucket.com and made an account, and put the image there that it might work??

Sorry, but you're website had a big pet peeve of mine. For the love of god, don't play music on your website without the user specifically asking for it. There's a couple resaons for this:
1. Sound files tend to be large when compared to images, so for people running off of 56k modems it can take the page too long to load.
2. It's just annoying.
On the bright side, at least the music wasn't a MIDI.

yeah...that is a slight downfall, but witht he way the site is set up, theres no way to make it a choice whether to listen or not, and i like it

oh yeah, you can also use the embed code to let the users decide if they want to play an audio file or not. you would put it in under Custom Header, or in an entry. however, users usually don't stop to play files...
so...if you use your journal more for yourself, you could keep it as it is now.

uh, both times i tried that link the bg pic didn't show up at all - which is actually a good thing. in my experience background images on web pages just make the text harder to read and are generally a bad idea.
