No. This was from the fifties. Black and white.

My dad was a big fan of their books. When the 70's show came out I remember him saying, "I knew they were going to make them look like that." As if he didn't like their new look. But he did really like the new show.

The entire serial movie is like 4 hours long. I thought the second disc was all extra features but it's not.

There is an extra feature with a 2006 interview with Tim Considine and Tommy Kirk, the two lead actors. They later appeared in Disney movies like "The Shaggy Dog." Kirk later appeared in "Old Yeller."

I just found out that Tim Considine played the eldest son on the first few seasons of My Three Sons (early black and white version). He was really good in that.

But I think that during the Hardy Boys, he was really overshadowed by Tommy Kirk. Considine described impressive Kirk's acting ability as "scary."
