I've never heard of this term until reading this wiki article >http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Branch_Davidian.

Perhaps I am am completely out of touch, but I did a quick search and it seems it's mainly used by Jehovah's Witnesses. Is this term used by any SDA's, and if so is there any literature on it?

Davidians I think are an offshoot of a group called "Shepherd's Rod" that was an offshoot of the Adventist Church. (I think that is the correct lineage -- )

The Branch Davidians are an offshoot of the Davidians .

But you never hear "Davidian this" or "Branch Davidian that" inside Adventist churches that I have ever attended. We would have to go to the same history sources you are using to find out the details.

in Christ,

Bob

Look into the church manual. In all the years I have only seen one person disfellowshiped and it was for committing adultery.

It is a form of church discipline. Not often used.

I think if you look back into early SDA church history there were a few that were disfellowshipped. Mainly because the refused to accept any admonisions (sic) from the Spirit of Prophecy. In some cases there were disputes over ownership of property or rights to this or that. Exact details I'm not sure but I know I've read a few accounts in EGW's writing reference these incidents. If I'm wrong please correct me.
