regarding your lucid comment - i am not a robot, you are speaking to a human being who conveys not simply logic when he speaks but also emotion. if you can not make an effort to feel what i feel, i often have to resort to even more emotion filled language. when i ask "are we all seeing this yet?" i mean everyone in this forum who are just as closed off as you.

If you cannot make your case with plain simple logic and reason,emotional appeals and insults are not going to get you anywhere either.

Well if you wanted to understand what my perspective is, that is how I knew best to explain it.
If you think it's condescending, you can explain how your belief is different than an imaginary friend.

Since you people are sucking me dry to the bone, I’ll leave you with this. Keep it to yourself if you’re capable. Your only answer seems to be that you don’t have one. Why then take that away from someone who does especially if you believe you have the power to do so? Honestly view what atheism is about. Lets consider you were right and that the whole of human existence up to this point has been lying to itself concerning a creator. Is it not a beautiful lie? Does it not fuel so much virtue and love in this world? If Christ did come back tomorrow would you slap him in the face and say “you’re a liar!”? All religion, all faiths are about a return to companionship, a celebration and gratitude for life. And who could we thank for living if not our creator? What you ask is too hard to accept. It would be like asking a person to leave their mother, deny she existed and helped raise and nurture them to be who they are today. Search your heart. You all seem to be very intelligent but don’t use that intelligence to kill the heart of others. That is in fact what you do. Faith is a strong thing, but its tested enough by our god that we don’t need the added pressure of people who are supposed to be helping one another. I can tell most of you are good people just by the way you speak and that you’re honestly looking to understand things. Please try if you can to understand people, the weakest of us, the least rational of us and that we’re all just trying to get by the best we can. Don’t think you empower those you convince that god doesn’t exist, in the end you only really set them down another course. There’s multiplicity in defining a singular truth. I had written quite a bit in reply to this, but I deleted because I realised I could sum it all up much quicker.
My real 'calling' is engineering, I believe in testing things, If they break when pushed they are best replaced with something stronger.
If faith cannot stand being tested, it doesn't deserve to be babied by me.
If your faith is so weak that it cannot bear to be questioned, them by all means bury your head in the sand if you are happy to live like that.
If your life is so empty of human compassion and meaningful relationshoips that you cannot bear to be without your belief in God, then that is quite sad.

Go read about what humanism actually is about, it's hardly as heartless as you imply.

However, when you get angry anytime someone doesn't agree with your unbelief system then you're wrong and you know it; you're just so bought into your own viewpoint, you'd rather be stupid than admit your error.
