• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A bank clerk was fired because his religion commands adherents to steal all money in sight.

Can you believe that?

<staff edit>
Boy, it's shameless the way the fundamentalist secularists punish people of faith for their beliefs, isn't it? They talk about how tolerant we're all supposed to be, but when push comes to shove, they're always discriminating against religion! I'll bet the ACLU (American Communist Litigation Unit) isn't rushing to this poor clerk's side. It just shows how hypocritical they are--always suing poor, innocent believers, trying to get faith shoved in the closet even as they claim to stand for the freedom of all Americans.

Well, what happened to freedom of religion, secularists? :mad:

I see that Morton's Demon extends to politics as well. The ACLU defends christians all of the time. Read more here:

"Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from a religious conviction." - Blaise Pascal (who became, by the way, a lauded Christian apologist and theologian).

I dont have a problem with your religion. I have a problem with the things the "followers" of your religion do when motivated by "spirituality". It is easily corrupted to justify abhorrent acts.

...and the guy stole money. To punish him isn't discrimination...it's justice. To laugh at his attempt to use religion to justify himself isn't discrimination...it's just plain funny.

Another victim of Poe's Law. This thread is a joke in response to a creationist being fired because he refused to use the theory of evolution in his work.

Is this the exceedingly rare double-Poe? The OP and Galle's post?

Can I get a ruling, please?
