I saw my counsellor today the session went well but i am so sad tonight. The last couple of years Dad has been very negative in my life. Last Christmas i put a end to it by telling Dad i need a time out. We have talked a few times it been ok. But this week he sent me a email makes me want to I love you Dad but i cannot handle your verbal abuse any more.

I lost my mom when i was 15 and when Dad got remarried he put me on a back burner at 21. I am glad he is married but he cant even have a casual talk with me he is so negative with what i do. He is not a christian i am active in my church. I do not push my beliefs on him i only act it out.

Where i live it is Thanksgiving i know the season is much more then sitting down to dinner but i am sad. Thanks for listening

I am sorry you lost your mother and things aren't going so well with your dad. I can understand that because my dad is a negative force in my life too. Sometimes its difficult to see other people living happily with their dads...something I never had. But I hope you enjoy the holiday and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

My Dad is a Christian. Not until my Dad had nearly died, did he ever acknowledge his love for me. That was two years ago, I'm 43. All thru out my life, I was never good enough for him. I am so much like him, he couldn't stand me. He saw the things he didn't like in himself in me and took out his anger on me. I have two sisters and a brother who did not experience what I did.

He calls me stupid and allot of swear words that i wont say. He tells me i am not smart i should do better. I am a sensitive person so what he says is hurtful

Well what he says is not true. Your father in heaven knows who you are and what you are he knew you before you were even formed. "Let God be true and every man a liar."

Heres a reminder of who you are:

I am complete in Him Who is the Head of all principality and power (Colossians 2:10).
