Hello, I was not sure of where to post this thread because it could cover different topics. I ocassionaly get little tidbits of insight that seem to make good Bible lessons and I would like to write them down so that I or someone else in the future might be able to use them, the only problem is that I get as far as the main idea (Trust in God, Obedience toward God, etc.). My main problem is that I don't seem to have the discipline to go and find Bible passages to go along with my topics and develop them into lessons/Bible studies. I was wondering if any of you experience something along the same lines and how you have overcome such a problem.

Well, I usually make sure the Lord wants me to do the lesson, because sometimes you have to be led of the Lord and be sure it's just not your flesh that wants to do it, but the Lord. If it's really the Lord, you'll have no problem. Also, I use books and other peoples lessons to help w/ scriptures and some key points, but I also look scriptures up myself. Also, use reference tools. They are a big help.

might try www.blueletterbible.org this little site has helped me tremendously...also, pick a word, like trust or obey and then use a strong's concordance to see the verses and passages you come up with...you can also use a topical bible to do this...pick a topic and it lists passages that relate to the topic...another way to study the bible is simply verse by verse...you can find verse by verse audio files of sermons on the blueletter site.

you sound like a Bible scholar ready to bloom...may the Lord give you insight and wisdom, growing you up in His word...in the name of Jesus

Thanks for the advice. Gman as far as Bible scholar goes I am not too sure if I could handle and afford more school, but if the Lord would call me into the ministry after prayer and confirmation I would seriously consider it, not much chance in running away from God's command just look at Jonah; I however do have a passion for college students, I don't know if it is because I am just out of college or if that is where God wants me to use my gifts and talents, I am currently praying about this also. I have put the link in my favorites for future reference. I usually look at these ideas with prayer, first to make sure that they fall into what the Bible says, then for better insight into the topic, most of these ideas come to me while I am in prayer.

Having the Online Bible on my computer has helped me alot, and so has the free software ESword. If you have a fast modem, you can download a library that can be word or phrase searched for material. This library is so huge that it boggles my mind, and it is all on my computer or the internet. The world is shrinking and the gospel and information is going out at an amazing rate.
