Being a fan of Dirty Dancing, I was extremely pumped to see this on stage. I couldn't see how it could go wrong! It's a solid storyline and the idea of it being centered around dancing seemed like the perfect way to create a fun-filled show.
This, however, was a huge disappointment. Unnecessary scenes were added to this choppy rendition of the beloved film. The show flowed terribly and the acting wasn't very good. Also, to top off it off, there wasn't much dancing at all. How could that be?? It's even called Dirty Dancing! And yet it lacked oh-so-much.
And to think, it's been on the West End for two years! The only things keeping this sad show alive is the fandom of the original, wonderful film- the exact film that is being ruined by this awful stage show.
Has anyone else witnessed this event??? I'm curious if anyone liked it. Nononono, I'm looking to argue, but I'm a little worried my view is clouded by my dislike. Were there any positives??
Let the discussion commence!
